The glory of God
The glory of God is when the Creator can control His creation, man, to a high level contrary to the will of man. Consider an American pastor's desire to see his or her congregation grow, perhaps take the whole corner block___for the glory of God. However, this is the will of pastor. A passerby may wonder, “Who is the pastor of this great church?” Is this for the glory of God? Yet Peter was told that he (Peter) would have to do something against his will for the glory of God by stretching out his hands and die on a cross. Therefore, a large congregation might glorify God when the high possibility of death exists for new members, as is the case in hostile countries. Again, the glory of God is revealed when the Creator can control His creation, man, to a high level contrary to the will of man. (see John 21:18-19; Rom. 4:18-20) This is by faith; the DNA code of God when planted in a human heart produces a righteous walk in step with the will of God. There is nothing wrong with a large house of worship, but consider how the Lord Jesus Christ glorified His Father by obedience to suffer on a cross, while the magnificent temple in Jerusalem was destroyed because the focus of the temple changed to glorify man.
