“Sam, get off of him. Now!” It was Father O’Sullivan. His booming voice caught everyone off guard. Sam grudgingly stepped off of Avery before saying to him: “You’re lucky I didn’t shoot you.”
“Oh yea and you’re lucky I didn’t drive your head through that wall and leave you stuck there.”
Bentley stepped in between them, looked at Sam, and said: “Do you really think we had something to do with Elizabeth’s decision to leave Vasallus and the mansion?”
Sam was about to comment when he was interrupted by Father O’Sullivan: “Sam we must leave at once. Avery, Bentley, I’m sorry we must rush out of here, but I must go.”
Avery looked at Father O’Sullivan, stunned by his change in appearance and protested: “Please stay, Father. There is much we need to talk about.”
Thomas stepped out of the doorway and into the room and replied: “I agree Avery. There is much to discuss and a lot for you to know. Now, unfortunately, is not the time. I must leave for Rome at once. My apologies to you both, now Sam, if you will, we must leave.”
