Goodreads Reader’s Choice

I found out recently that Library at Mount Char made the semi-finals in the Goodreads reader’s choice awards for Best Debut category. As a write-in, no less! Many thanks to those of you who voted—I seriously didn’t even know that write-ins were possible.

If you’d like to vote, here’s the link.

The last day to vote is today, November 15.

Alysa H. *waves hello*
I wrote it in for both the Best Fiction and Best Fantasy categories. I'm glad it got in somewhere!

Scott Hawkins Hi Alysa,

I really appreciate that! Like I said, I didn't even know write-ins were a thing. Thank you!

Doug I wrote it in also..was amazed it didn't actually make the 'official' list! Hope it wins! Voted for it in the Best Debut category too.

Thanks Doug! I'm happy it made the semi-finals in any capacity, but to get there by write-in really was a pleasant surprise. So, really, much appreciated.

The flip side, of course, is that now I'm pulling my hair out trying not to screw up the follow-up book by doing something that's either too different or, perhaps worse, too similar. But this is a good problem. :-)

Amel Lou Also, in Canada, The Library At Mount Char is the 4th best book of the year at the Indigo book store!

I heard that from a Canadian buddy of mine. It's fantastic news, but I'm sort of bummed that it's not a chain we have here (Atlanta). I'd like to pick up fliers to annoy people who come over to the house and/or take selfies in front of some display case to annoy the people who don't come over on Facebook. :-)

Edit: To clarify, my buddies have been ragging me pretty relentlessly since the book came out. This would be a righteous escalation.
