I have a friend in a federal prison. It's a long story, but he's a good guy, and he loves to read. I sent him a copy of The Girl in the Mirror, and he liked it a lot. He has so far passed it around his cell block to 16 other inmates--all men, and most have college degrees. My friend tells me that they've all liked it. Except for one, who said it scared him.
I'm delighted that the inmates like my book! First of all because it's great to bring a little happiness to this population. Also, it indicates that the book has wider appeal than I thought, that men like it, too. And if it scared someone, that's probably good too!
As my friend continues to pass it around the prison, I'll keep you posted on the results.
