This is a second book in a trilogy. My review of the first, Leviathon with a fish-hook is available to read here https://www.goodreads.com/review/show.... Another fabulous book about ordinary people ,leading ordinary lives and struggling at times to find God in the traumas of human heartache. [He always finds them though]. If you think that sounds unexciting let me put you right. The thing that makes this a page turner for me is my love for the characters, They are so real. With their quirkiness and understandable sinful natures , they are relatable, likeable and charming. I wanted to find out how they resolved their problems , if they grew closer to God and what would happen next. SLRussell doesn't write for the action junkie but her novels have lots of human interest and are gripping and exciting in a different way. I was very glad to realise there is a third novel as I am not ready to say goodbye to Eileen and her friends yet. You really need to read the first novel before this one which ends in tragedy. In The Monster Behemoth Eileen slowly and painfully learns to let go of that pain and allow God to be a greater part of her life . I love to read non fiction christian books to inspire spiritual growth and I love well written character and relationship driven fiction. In The Monster Behemoth I had both! S.L. Russell is becoming one of my favourite authors and I intend to read everything I can by her. To be honest I am frustrated by the seeming lack of recognition of her greatness on Goodreads. There are so many rather frivolous and poorly written christian fiction books out there, that are read by many Here is some quality writing that may even inspire your own walk with God aswell as proving some page turning reading. Come on people !!
