S.L. Naeole has always loved the smell of books, the feel of books, and the destination that a book is guaranteed to take you. She knew from an early age that she was meant to write, to create those very same books she loved so much and vowed that one day, she would.

Now, after getting married and starting a family, she has finally made her dream come true. As the author of Falling From Grace, she's found a venue with which to allow her dreams to become the reader's, and transport them to worlds and lives where fantasy and reality blend seamlessly. With several more books in the works, including three sequels to Falling From Grace, she's hoping to give to her fans the same desire and affection for the written word that she had as a child.

S.L. Naeole writes from her home in Hawai'i, with her husband, four children, and cat by her side cheering her on and providing endless amounts of inspiration.

Her third book, Black Halo, book three in the Grace Series, is due to be released August 31st, 2010.

someone please kill me!
a picture of me begging to get stabbed
That a nice illustration of bored I was while reading this book.
I have to be honest and say that I can't even remember If I got to the end and I truly have zero cares about it.
For starters, Robert Is just too perfect: too pretty, too twilight, and mind you not -I was a huge twilight fan back in the day, so me saying that – is the ultimate insult.
Another very big flaw is the fact that every single character has something annoying about them. I am talking about literally things that are rooted in their personality, even though I am not sure they have one. You just cannot be not flawed.
Look at Grace - all she does Is annoy me, and in return Robert says the perfect thing every single time! That is just not possible. Would It kill him to curse once? please just one "shot" or "go to hell?" Because even angels can't be perfect 24/7.
Look at Patch from HUSH HUSH. Yes, I know, there Is this halo above their heads which doesn't appear in this book. If Robert would had had one here, maybe I would have actually liked him because It Is kind of cool in a weird way.
And can I say that even Edward from twilight wasn't perfect? He left Bella! (I know the shock).
Could It had been so awful If Robert would have left Grace? let me spell It- NO. Maybe even could have added a nice twist to story, a huge turn of events. I don't know about you but I like to be surprised, to be kept out of the loop ,just something that will keep me engaged, on the edge of my sit , and will make me want to get to the end of the book.
Every time, I read about how much Grace adores him that starts with an R (please guess away) I wanted to slap her for more than one reason.

The reasons why I wanted to slap Grace:
1. She Isn't a freak but yet keeps calling herself one. Yes, Grace we understand that everyone thinks that you are one, but plight-zee have some self-respect.
2. She has a stupid dumb ass ex best friend, whose name I don't remember so let call him DA aka dumb ass. He has no personality and Grace Is a total sucker. I must say he surprised me for the best, when he married the blind chick (whose name I also don't remember so let's call her BC aka blind chick). And then they get married (at 18) and he becomes Immortal -a total shock! but really, I can't for the life of me see what so amazing about him. The only one thing I must give him credit for Is the fact that he Is a blond hot tie (Is he blond ?I think so..) and that he landed a total BP (beautiful person) so what the hack ....who can blame the guy? and he totally slept with her AND with the head batch of his school. good for him!
3. oh no I haven't finished about him yet. In the first book I thought he was a jerk and he truly was but he changed because he missed his best friend and yada yada, and Grace was stupid (she Is stupid In general but this Is just another reason) enough to fall for her best friend when she saw herself as the freak and him as the god.
4 .one of the best things I loved about her Is that she was part Asian, but somehow Grace made It, this big bad deal when I think It kind of made her kind of pretty, but our Grace Is nothing like that. NO NO NO folks she hates that about her (SURPRISE). Every time I find something I liked about her BOOOM It comes right back at me because surprise surprise Grace hates herself. She seriously needs a shrink that will help her Improve her self-Image. If someone have a number of a good one, please email It to her email: grace_loves_brIts@yahoo.com. Thank you for the help we would really appreciate It.
I am kidding of course she doesn't need one she already has one.
To top It all I will show you one of Grace's and Robert's emotional conversations. Don't worry there are plenty in the book - because teens have very deep conversations with each other. especially teen boys because they are very deep!
enjoy:

G : rob I love you I will die for you !
(please help yourself)
R: no grace my angel my whole existence I had never felt anything like I feel for you. you are my love, my destiny, my heart will die without you and I will never be whole again .If you die I will die with you my Grace .please let me save you from the darkness that wants to take you away from me. If I must die to save you I would but I can't because I am death (sucks for you man-would' want to be you)even If I will be banished from earth remember me ,and If you will die I will find you my love, that I can promise you.
G: ohm rob I love you too! Why don't you want to sleep with me? Is that because I am an ugly freak because I totally am one.
R: of course, I want to sleep with you, but we must get married first. will you marry me Grace?
G: sure, let's do It!

so, as you can see, I have made mild changes but believe me It was for your own good. Sometimes there were paragraphs full of crap, so I had to get to end of the page to get to the point and I kid you not It made no difference (get to the point Robert and Grace!!).
In my opinion the characters are too emotional in the bad way. I was seriously waiting the whole series for the moment when DA and R would cry and If they had has, it would have maybe made the series worth It.
I wanted to see grace understand how not freaky she was, and I think In a crazy way she did.

So that Is my review of this book which I read 3 years ago when I had a pretty whitish taste In books . English Is not my first language so there a few grammatical errors ,and It's the 3rd time In the last 2 years that I re-edit this thing .edit – 4th time.
one last thing I have to say: the British accent does contribute to the book because I have a weakness for British guys, but he has a boring name. Couldn't he be a Whine or Oliver? It sounds way cuter. I could see grace with an Oliver.

yours truly book geek,

This was a wonderful ending to an already great series. It tied all of the loose ends together so that everything made sense. Alot of times, when a series ends, you're left with a sense of incompletion, but with this series, I really felt that it ended the best way possible. I am a sucker for happy endings, and while it was sort of left open for the possibility of a spin-off, even if there never is one, I'm left feeling quite satisfied. I am not going to say that the author didn't have some flaws in the writing -- there were some odd punctuations, some unfinished sentences, things that would drive an English teacher crazy -- but as far as the plotline goes, the story is solid, and it makes for an excellent read. With all four books, I wanted to read until I was done, not putting the book down until I knew what happened next. That's a true testiment of how good these books were. I would HIGHLY recommend these to my friends to read.

What an amazing end to a reallly great series. I'm sad to see Roberts and grace's story end but what a ending I was not let down at all expect for the only thing that bugs me is not all of the first four died. Any YA reader should read this series you won't be disapointed. I really thought I knew who wanted grace dead but boy was I wrong that's what I loved the most was you did know right up to that point as a reader it was outragest to me that the first four did everything they did. Grace is a wonderful character that I just loved from the 1st book all the way to the end of this book. Robert is just the perfect book boy makes you swoon and is totallly HOT and the way he loves grace is just awesome with a capital A.

When reading this book SKIMMING is your best friend! It took me months to finish this series and it only usually takes me a day a book if interesting enough.

I took any reason to take a break from this book and only read it because I read the first book and just had to get a closure.

1. I kept get frustrated the author kept repeating same things over and over again. I would read a few pages and a few chapters later I felt like I just read that.

2. I was wishing Grace would finally DIE already! GEZ! Its pretty bad when your rooting for the bad guy because the main character is so annoying.

Ugh I would never ready this book again and if I could give it ZERO stars I would.

To sum up:

"Robert, I promise I will never doubt you again." (at least not for another 10 pages, when my mood will inexplicably do a complete 180 and I'll go back to feeling sorry for myself because we haven't had sex yet)

"Grace, I promise I will never leave you again." (until the next time I leave you, for seemingly unknown reasons, during which you will probably almost die, again)

Sigh.

Finally, a perfect ending for The Grace Series.

First, this book is totally super long. Took me almost nine hours to finish.. or was i just stalling? hmm. I admit to not fully liking the first 3 books and the start of this last book. I was so ready to be disappointed with the ending as well, until things got hot and heavy. Yes, hot and heavy..that is really how i'll describe the ending.

Grace finally hit the mark! At first, she was still the same. Wanting to be normal.. thinking that everything's all about her and then when she and Robert finally got married, to me that is where she really started to become "ballsy". She became such a great character here.. defying rules, speaking her mind, caring about people she loved and not caring what other people thought. I was afraid that i'll continue to dislike her character. Turns out, she came prepared. She handled finding out her true calling with grace and spunk. I had an inkling of what'll happen next but i never expected the scenes that played out at the end. She sure did a number on them! Robert was a model partner through and through. Even though there were lotsa times that Grace doubted her (sorta), he remained by her side and never wavered. I like that about him. Grace and Robert for me, deserves the peace they got at the end.

Stacy is such a joy to read...Her answers and sudden bursts never fail to amaze me and make me laugh out loud.

“Hah!” I heard Stacy cheer triumphantly. “Three years of hospital video game duck hunting, you feathered freak!”

Her banters with Graham are refreshing and really.. insightful. haha

Graham sniffed the air. “What? Did your nose die too? Because I don’t smell anything.”
“That’s because your nose can only smell extra cheese and bean burritos.”
“Yeah, like you didn’t eat two of them every time I took you to the Taco Tower.”
“And? You ate six!”
“That’s because I needed the energy!”
“For what?!”
“To keep from strangling you! Damn, Stacy, even dead, you’re annoying!”
“You didn’t think I was annoying when we were making out!”
“Duh! That was the only time you ever stopped insulting me!”
“That’s because making out was the only thing you were ever good at!”

Didn't get much action from Lark but i sure am sad about what happened to her wings. Grace's Dad is such a revelation. His past sure is like a bomb dropped in front of me. I never saw that coming. I look up to him as a father because he always wants what's best for his daughter. He was always caring for Grace, trying to maintain normalcy although he knew all along that Grace was something special and can never be normal. Gabriel, is also a big revelation. I became teary eyed on his last scene with Grace. I dunno why.. hmm, maybe because he knew what was coming and he didn't fight it. I was only a little bit surprised that Avi already knew everything and planned it all but still, it was amazing when everything was said and done.

All in all.. it's a good wrap up of the series. Unexpected.. but beautiful.

"Life was good.
It wasn’t normal, but then again, whose life ever really is?"

What an ending to this series! I truly thought that Grace had died for real, and that it ended up being all for nothing. The fight was amazing, and when Grace finally got into all of her powers, it was breathtaking! She is Life, so wonderful, and now, she and Robert can live on, raising their angel-baby and continue answering their call.
The only sad note at the very end of the book is that Grace's dad and family moved away, it makes me want to know more, just like I always do when I love a series. I want to see Grace and Robert again later, know that life is better now. And hopefully, they have stopped thinking they don't deserve each other's love now.

Finally, the last book...this series is finite. I continued to read the series thinking it would get better but it never happened. Each book was longer and more dragged out than the last. The concept for the series was good. The characters were trite, one dimensioned and the same action growth (none) occurred in each book. The fainting, crying, and whining on the part of the main character drove me nuts. Judicial pruning might have helped the books since the overall concept was good. I would probably not read anything else by this author.

This was a fun, interesting series to read. While at moments I felt like the author dragged the story on and at others the characters were slightly annoying, the core of the story was great and the ending really brought everything full circle.

The last chunk of the book got a little weird and drug on a bit. Once you got past that, it was really good again.

I’m sorry but this book was ridiculous! Not only is it too long but most of the conflicts make no sense. If you are fated to die, why would you spend your time on summer school? If you decide to get married, before your imminent death, why would you postpone it for summer school? What is the point of these mundane goals? It’s not as if you are going to get a job. It is silly drama in a long shallow book.

This is what I've always wanted to read from Naeole. I want a little bit more drama between Grace and Robert. And I am not talking about lies and those I-am-keeping-my-call-a-secret-to-protect-you stuff. I love the whole book. It was, I don't know, so unexpected. Grace and Robert didn't have an easy out from their problems like some popular books do, which I won't bother to mention the titles.
I love it.

I just read someone elses comment and they mentioned how they were fond of Grace and Robert in the previous books....What?! Are you kidding me, they were god awful s9#*(#*$&($##(($*...I hated Grace, she was so fudging annoying and selfish and bratty..(all after meeting hot guy Robert who liked her)...(love makes you change in her case it went to her head) Ok hate is a strong word, but Grace had a lot of selfish tendencies and Robert was a bit self absorbed only, they both acted human... Ok so I have to say this book was a lot better than the others. First because S.L. Naeole stuck to her guns, a lot of us readers myself included wanted something done with Grace's humanity...like smiting..yes smiting would be nice...lol.. but I don't think she never meant Grace to be more than human. Her feelings encompass the whole array of emotions including the not so divinely ones like greed and selfishness...Grace was honestly human...And I hated her for it...lol...what? Even Robert was fed up with her annoying ass...but Grace does get a reprieve she does see the error of her ways....hmmm wait she changes along with her nature as she does become an angel...damnit..that means as a human she fails....fudge..o well...Grace as an angel is an angel...lol....I gave this book 4 stars only because her transformation was too quick and not isolated like when Robert and Lark got their wings..Grace's transformation I think I have to go back to read because it was rushed in my opinion, I wanted that part to be as memorable as Robert getting his wings. All in all great read....

**WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS**

What to say about this book?

I'm not going to lie, I did get confused because everyone kept telling Grace she was supposed to take her mother's place. And it didn't seem right because Robert and Grace were meant for each other. But in the end I felt stupid. I should've known.

Anyway, did I want to throw this? Yes, yes I did because Grace was being stupid. She pissed me off to my breaking point and yelling didn't do anything to make it better. Hell I yelled at every character in this book. "this is a bad idea guys!!" but did they listen? No, no they didn't. And I realize you guys are probably thinking I'm the craziest person talking to a book but I am okay with that.

I think what got me the most was Lem. What the fuck were you thinking? She plainly said she didn't want you because you aren't Robert you ASSHOLE! Hey I don't know if you know this but when you promise to keep your distance, you have to because its a promise. Oh and when a girl's husband tells you you aren't allowed near their wife ever again, that usually means DON'T GO NEAR HER!!!

And I really like the fact that Stacy eats bad people. And I'm very glad she isn't dead....in the sense that she doesn't talk or walk or anything.

Anyway, the reason this gets 5 stars is because of the ending. It was a wonderful ending and it caught me off guard. So I'm recommending this series to everyone. Enjoy.

I just finished reading this book and I gotta say, I loved it! I loved the entire series. It's kinda bittersweet that I'm done with it all, I'm gonna miss the characters and being drawn into their lives. What a very sweet, touching ending. I love how everything was tied together in the end and how every single moment through every book had a meaning and was tied together at the end. I was on the edge of my seat w/tears rolling down my cheeks through the last 20% of the book. Very well written. I'd recommend this to everyone. Definitely a YA read or older, as there's some sexual content to it. However, the author is very clean and very appropriate in how she writes about it. It's very touching and warm, you won't be skipping over it or blushing from anything that's read. There's a small amount of language used in the books, but nothing that's offensive or that caused me to stop reading.

Overall? I think these books are hands down better than Twilight (sorry, Stephenie) series, but pretty even with the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices. I will be reading this series again and would love to find them in audio.

This is the first time I gave a low rating because of a character. I hate Grace. It's like she's beside me and talking nonstop about her death, about her being a freak, about being responsible for the deaths of her friends, about her insecurities. It is freaking annoying! I was tempted to give up reading but then, this is the last book, I might as well TRY to finish it till the end. There were a few scenarios wherein she was really stubborn that I was holding at the ends of my hair because I was really pissed off. Hmmmp.

And I still hate the words FREAK, NORMAL, BEST FRIEND that were repeatedly mentioned all throughout the series! I should have made a tally on how many times they appeared.haha

This series was so enjoyable. I loved every second of it. I finished the series satisfied, and with a huge grin plastered on my face :D. Though, she could have maybe ended it with a little more about Maia, but its ok, I'll leave her to my imagination. Robert annoyed me off and on throughout the series, but he came through in the end.

So many twists and turns with Grace and her mom and Amelia. When I thought I knew who Sam's partner was, time and time again, I was wrong, and I loved the suspense.

I do feel like Graces hormones were unbelievably annoying and needy. I mean for crying out loud, he's an ANGEL! lol But i loved it.

MUST READ! 5.5 STARS!

It breaks my heart to finally complete this series. I fell in love with the characters in this book. I have had an opportunity to process my thoughts. Although I wanted this to be a five star series it was not. In this book especially I found myself struggling to understand some of the storyline. With this being said I do understand it is a fantasy and paranormal however it was a little to far out of my reach at moments. I had a hard time understanding what was going on at crucial parts of the book. Now don't get me wrong i loved the series and I am glad I read it. I would read it again and again.... I just had some struggles that I think could have been made clearer by the author.

This entire series was absolutely amazing. At times, it was a lot of information to absorb, and found myself confused, but you will easily fall in love with these characters and the story they have to tell. At times, I found myself laughing out loud, and other times I was clinging to my Kindle anticipating what would happen next. Beautifully written and I can't wait to see what else this talented author will "Grace" us with next! I am excited to re-read this whole series and absorb this story time and time again! Thank you S.L. Naeole!

This series was my absolute favorite. It was such a beautiful story and bitter sweet. Bitter because I didn't want it to end and sweet because it had the perfect ending. To sum this series up, you have a girl, who was bullied, had a best friend that rejected her, but they ended up mending and she falls in love with an angel. She discovers something about herself and saves her relationship and the world. I totally recommend this series!!! This series left me sleepless at night because I couldn't stop thinking about it!!!

An amazing end to a captivating series! Grace and Robert have to face the end of the world in order to save each other. There were twists and turns on every page that keeps you guessing and anticipating. This series and more specifically this book leads one to believe in that one special love. The whole idea that to every rhyme there is a reason and to every time there is a place! This series is being added to one of my series to read and reread whenever I can't decide what to read. S.L. Neaole I have to thank you for the characters and story you had me sink into with this series.

Oh jeesh, I'm such a sucker for destined "mates" type books. Grace Shelley was a lovely character one of which had a beautiful heart. The love between her and Robert was beautifully woven. She is one of the characters that although had a hard life she still had a soft heart. She truly went from a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly.

This was a wonderful paranormal romance with a mystery, action and romance. Intriguing plot that was woven and grew over the entire series. It was a fun read from beginning to end.

O.M.G!!!

I left my review untill I'd finished the series, and Oh my Lordy, I loved it!! Everything was perfect, twists and turns through out!

I don't really think there are words to describe how great these stories are!

I loved ALL the main characters! Which can actually be hard to do, but they were all just too loveable!!

I knew as soon as Robert got his call, what would happen with Grace! It was just great to see it all unfold!

I'm gutted that there is no more, but all questions were answered, and nothing was left out at all, it all made sense!

I loved it!!!

AWESOME!!!!! God! I can't believe such a book existed and I hadn't read it till now. I immensely thank my friend Maddy for introducing this book to me. I loved it through n through. It was a roller-coaster ride, from happy to sad; patient to urgent; cold to hot; pious to sinful; beautiful to ugly; each and every emotion of mine went rampant.. Books like these should be shelved under epic YA novels... Literally, hats off to S.L Naeole. Thank you for writing such a breath taking, awesome-adjectives-stealing series!!!!! ;))

This was a nice ending to the series and left an opening for a spin off possibly. The overall writing was better than in the prior books but still could of had some content editing to make it that much better. I also was left with some questions unanswered the main one that bothers me is what did Robert promise Bala for retrieving Grace from the sanctuary? But still considering how frustrated the first three books of the series made me I am very happy with this one overall.

I really enjoyed this book and I felt like I really knew the characters. I was very close to giving it 4 stars, but parts just dragged too much and each new theory on the whole life/death and "who is who supposed to be" was confusing. However, I loved the story. I truly think the book just needs a good edit and would be excellent. I loved how I couldn't figure out who was the bad guy! I even thought it might be Amelia or Lark at one point. Great series, and I would definitely rec it!
