A deadly secret comes to fruition,
an ageless battle
between good and evil knocks at the door...

Makenzie Larson thought she was a somewhat normal seventeen year-old girl trying to find her place in this world. Well, on second thought, with debilitating claustrophobia and her large, dysfunctional family, maybe not. But when her Grandfather shares a renounced family secret, she soon finds out she’s even further from being an ordinary teenager. Strange events begin to occur, bringing precarious people into her path including one potential love interest. She discovers she has a supernatural ability that can not only mend her battered family, but ultimately save the world in the ageless battle between Miliardo’s Guardians and Quistis’ army. Quistis will do anything to keep the prophecy involving her demise from coming true, but will Makenzie survive?

I liked the way the author made me feel like I was a part of the Larson family. I liked the themes in her writing as well, especially since I come from a dysfunctional family, too. It seemed like a good read and once their super powers/abilities were revealed, the book went really fast for me. If you like Sci-Fi, you will like this book.

Pitkin's writing style reminded me of Meyer's in Twilight. A good story of innocence lost, capabilities discovered. I recommend this book.
