This book is part of the series "George Brown Class Clown." This book is an easy to read chapter book with 125 pages. I would recommend this book for 2nd-3rd graders. There are illustrations on every page and the chapters are rather short. This is a story about George Brown who really wants to buy a remote control Dude-on-a-Skateboard. However, he can't seem to keep the money he earns. George and his friends try to earn money in multiple ways but are unsuccessful. Every time things seem to be going well, George lets out a mega burp that makes him act silly and get into trouble. At the end, George and his friends are finally able to buy the RC toy, but the toy store ran out of them the previous day. Luckily for George, he discovers that the toy was not very good quality and it was actually a good thing that they did not earn the money in time.

George the class clown is silly and when big burps erupt from him he gets out of control. These books are great for the beginning reader with bolded sentences, noises like swish, big words like supersonic, all to engage and entertain the young reader. Although George can be a bit much but the story wraps up with him holding a job at the pet shop, finally! You find yourself holding your breath to see whether or not he is able to keep the gig. Even though the story really is not about his wedgie but the title does catch your eye. The story is about rather George trying to earn enough money to buy a toy called Dude-on-a-Skateboard. Delightful read and a great recommendation for young boys.
We discovered this series recently and of course have not read them in order but we love them. My kids will bet me to read more of these. And of course, they love to mimic the burping from the book.
Asher (7yo) read. "My favorite part was when George Brown dressed up as a clown and jumped on a trampoline near a tree and then his underwear got caught on a branch and that's how he got the world's worst wedge."
I love the lesson George learned in this book! It had nothing to do with wedgies, but more about toys made to look really cool actually being worthless junk.
Simon ~ another fun one that caused some laugh out loud bursts in the middle of quite reading time! He said he'll definitely be looking for more George Brown books!
i thought it was kind of interesting. The way George got the wedgie was he was bouncing on a trampoline ant his underwear got caught on a branch and then the branch broke. He really wanted this to so he asked his mom to work partime at her job. Then he got fired because of his stupid super burp. Then he tried selling hamsters for 2 dollars a piece and that didnt work out. Then finally he worked at a pet store and when he finallly got enough moneuy he went to the toy store. But when he got there the toy was sold out but later on he found out that the toy was a hunk of junk.
