Upon entering college, all new students, regardless of their majors, are forced to read that famous book and begin reading just one sentence. For many, however, "history" is to memorize the order of previous events, such as Gap Shin Jung in 1884, the Donghak Farmers Movement in 1894, the Russo-Japanese War in 1904, and the Korea-Japan merger in 1910. There are people everywhere who are asked to memorize not only school days and years but also dates, and who have lost interest in history.In this way, the role of history has been trapped between lessons and fun (with or without), becoming a playground for virtues or a battlefield for politicians. However, Professor Kato Yoko of the University of Tokyo, Japan, tells a different story.
