Reader This book is part of a series and while it is recommended to be read in sequence, it can be read as a stand-alone book."
I live in Texas with my husband, daughter, and three Labrador retrievers. By day you can find me at my 'day job' buried under a pile of paperwork but at night I am at my computer creating new worlds!
I have always loved the paranormal. Shape-shifters, witches, and vampires have been my number one choice of reading material so when I strated to write it was the genre I chose.
I currently have several books released through Totally Bound. I have one long running series the Were Chronicles and in March 2014 a spin-off series the Shifter Chronicles will be revealed.
I also have several stand alone novellas and novels.
I am working hard to bring more stories to the readers so they can sit back and relax while losing themselves in the paranormal romance world.
Losing control can be a beautiful thing, especially when you lose control with the one you love. Kyle and Shawn lost control one night after too many drinks, but the next day Shawn ran from the inevitable, a long life with his mate. Now he is back and hoping he can get Kyle to lose control one more time.
Shawn is such an alpha male/wolf he cannot admit his weakness to anyone... even himself. This trait really gave me something to appreciate. Many people are the same way; they run away from their imperfections so they do not have to face them. Shawn will have no choice, but to face what he has been running from if he thinks he will have any chance with either Kyle or Bree is true mates.
Ménages are author Crissy Smith’s specialty. The first story in this series really set the bar because it was my all time favorite ménage, and maybe even favorite erotic story. I am happy to say that this story lived up to my expectations with its plot, characterization, and sexual exploits. Not only is Shawn trying to win back the man he loves, but now he needs to figure out a way to introduce Bree to his mate and win her over so she can join what will hopefully be their happy lives. That is one big feat for a man who has hidden insecurities, but he is committed to do it, which I admire. Kyle, while he is submissive within the pack, shows alpha qualities when necessary, so he more than makes up for what Shawn occasionally lacks -- though no one is lacking in the bedroom. Bree is just a quirky artist that you cannot help yourself but smile at while reading this story. When all three enter the bedroom, sparks fly.
If you previously read the first story you will love seeing some old characters up to their antics. If you are new to this series you will equally appreciate the secondary characters and feel right at home. Though you will probably want to go back and read the original story because these characters are that good! After I finished reading this story I wanted to go right back and read it again -- so that should tell you what treat you are in store for.Originally posted at http://whippedcream2.blogspot.com/201...
As always, Crissy Smith's novellas are spicey and rich in color, characters that reach out and grab the imagination, full of erotic loving and stories that are interesting from beginning to end. And like all her other work, I again complain that they are just way too short. Once introduced to Kyle and Shawn and others in this series, as a reader I want to be around them more. That being said this is a story that could easily be about "love lost" but is, instead, love found once more. It is a fun read and for those who like shifter tales it is another very good read and one that I most certainly will re-read in the near future.
Ms. Smith has written a wonderful follow up in her Corporate Wolves Series. Since I’ve had the pleasure of reading the first book in this series, it was a pleasure to read Losing Control. To view this review in its entirety, please visit http://www.blackravensreviews.com/?p=...
