Mark Twain's Jews

Rate this book
This study examines the controversy over whether Mark Twain was an anti-Semite by examining all mentions of Jews in his notebook entries, autobiographical recollections, newspaper articles, letters, and sketches and essays, culminating in his essay "Concerning the Jews," which was published in 1899 (and is presented here in facsimile reproduction). Vogel spent 25 years affiliated with the English department of Yeshiva University and then another 25 years at Michlalah-Jerusalem College in Israel; now retired, he edits Jewish Bible Quarterly and writes.
