While riding Snow White along Pony Pal Trail, Lulu finds a letter written from one girl to another about how much she misses riding her pony, so she and her friends start investigating, wondering who wrote the letter and why.
When I was growing up I never thought of being an author. I was a terrible speller and didn't want to write any more than I had to. I wanted to be a tap dancer when I grew up. After a few years of teaching junior high and high school, I wrote my first novel. It was a surprise to discover that I liked making up stories and writing them down. I liked it so much that eventually I stopped teaching and became a fulltime writer.
Besides novels for children and young adults, I've also told stories by writing scripts for television and the movies.
I live on the top floor of a sixteen-story building near the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. From my apartment I have a view of Manhattan that includes the Empire State Building and the Plaza Hotel. In my free time I draw, paint, and read. I still love to dance.
Some people think that a writer's life is lonely. But when I'm writing a story I don't feel lonely because I am actively involved with lots of interesting people – the characters in my books. I love knowing that some day readers will get to know these characters, too. If you are one of my readers I hope you have as much enjoyment in reading my stories as I have writing them.
I really enjoyed the mystery of this book and seeing a glimpse at the past of Wiggins. I also loved the way all of the different characters (both past and present) connected with one another.
Not much else to say about this one, but it was an enjoyable read, and the ending was sweet.

3 girls are on a trail-ride through the forest. Anna, Lulu, and Pam call themselves the “pony pals”. While they are out horseback riding they come across an old letter, actually a really old letter. It was from 1918! When they read the letter, they realized that the girl who wrote it mentioned a secret riding field. The girls were intrigued. Then they saw the letter was for someone with the initials LS. The person who wrote it had the initials of AW. The girls have an amazing adventure trying to find out who these girls were, and where the secret riding field is. They even make a new friend.
I liked this book because it was an exciting mystery. I never read mysteries, but after reading this it makes me want to read more of them. I especially liked that the girls reminded me of some of my friends. If you love horses as much as I do you will love this book.
This is literally the only one that I can say for certain that I read. I adored this one as a child. I adored the pants off of hiding letters and history. Yay. Yeah, I didn't want a pony, I wanted to live as a part of the past. One of these days I'll realize that I'm technically part of history, even if it seems so current compared to, well, Spanish Influenza and dying.
