We Are All in Shock provides the tools for reclaiming complete well-being after overwhelming experiences of shock, trauma, or PTSD whether caused by the massive sweep of current events or a personal catastrophe. Dr. Mines redefines psychological trauma and revolutionizes the concept of self-care by identifying the true cause of anxiety, explaining why it is so prevalent in society today and how by recognizing its effect we can find new stability and healing. Parents, nurses, crisis workers, massage therapists and body workers, psychotherapists and the everyday reader will benefit from the practices Dr. Mines designed not only for symptomatic relief but also for the complete resolution of physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual shock and trauma. We Are All in Shock demystifies energy medicine by presenting the reader with tools to help diminish and eliminate the nervous system’s habitual responses to overwhelming events. Dr. Mines’ work combines the ancient knowledge of traditional healing with the most contemporary scientific interpretation of how the brain works, to offer a clear understanding of neurological behavior. This one has another mixed review. There is some language that is inappropriate and offensive and needs to be changed, but this book hasn't been updated in nearly 20 years. (That's no excuse for the language, but rather a sign that it likely won't be fixed.) I learned so much about energy medicine and how to work towards healing for myself and others! I was so excited to try it out that I walked many friends and family members through the practice over the phone to see if they saw any results. While the impacts were small, they make me hopeful that continued practice will have significant effects! I recommend the lessons in this book to those who want to learn about how energy medicine can help them reach emotional, physical, and mental wellness.
This book was a beautiful read. I was expecting a lot of over my head type explanations and instead I was pleasantly surprised by how beautifully it was written. It really has given me hope for a better future than I had been imaging. The author continually mentions that these “flows” could be part of any emergency response teams protocol and make a difference. I agree. A read I highly recommend.
