Meant for Good: A Study of Joseph

by Donna Snow

The life story of Joseph is one of the most beloved and chronicled in the Bible. It's a story of broken dreams and impossible circumstances, of family conflict and unfair treatment. It's a story of the power and necessity of letting God's love and forgiveness lead. Joseph's story is the subject of this eight-week women's Bible study from author and popular women's ministry leader Donna Snow. Equally usable as an individual study or a group study, readers will come away recognizing their own circumstances in Joseph's story, inspired to place trust in God.

About the author

Bible study is my passion. Period. God has completely transformed my life through it. Consequently, Artesian Ministries (my 501c3 non-profit ministry) is focused on the expository teaching of God’s Word and practical application of His life-giving truths in our everyday lives.

Whenever God opens the door for me to teach from His Word, I always carry a few extra Bibles with me to give as gifts to those who do not have one.

I have three abiding passions: encouraging dear sisters in Christ, exploring the treasures in Scripture, and traveling the world.

When I’m not speaking, writing, or embarking on a new adventure, I enjoy connecting with you online, snapping copious photos, watching documentaries and home improvement shows, immersing myself in research, and reading faith-based books—as many as I can inhale. I’m a marginal housekeeper, closet chef, and dabbling gardener, but home is always my favorite place to be.

Donna’s enthusiasm for God’s Word is contagious, and I couldn’t wait to see Joseph through her eyes. And boy, she didn’t disappoint! Ms. Snow offers her usual Texas charm, layered with spiritual depth, and cultural and historical context, that meets me in my everyday experience. Her words will weave around you like a multicolored tapestry, rich with the mystery and miracle of Joseph’s story that reveals the heart of God.

This book is a deep-dive into the life of Joseph unlike anything I have studied on Joseph before. Not only will you learn in-depth about Joseph and his brothers, but Donna so beautifully includes many parallels to Jesus in this study, that richly blesses your time in the Word. There are so many Scriptures that she also uses to deepen your own faith. This study is soul-food!!

This is an in-depth study on Joseph and his journey to royalty, which includes a lot of pain. Donna Snow provides scriptural and historical supports throughout this study to make it fruitful for learning about this part of Genesis. It is an excellent study and I highly recommend it.

One of my favorite Bible studies, I learned so much about Joseph and his life, as well as about his father. This study and the things I learned helped me join in further discussions at future Bible studies, something I am always timid to do in case I am wrong.

This study was an excellent, deep and thought provoking study of the life of Joseph. We used it for Adult class at our church and it was well received, in fact one of the class members said, " I just want to keep going, this is so good."

Bible study with family. God puts us in difficult situations to change our hearts and put our focus on God. Could have changed weekly prayer up, but all good

I love Donna's style and the way she integrates history found in archeological records with what is in the bible!

Read with my Bible Study group. Was just okay. I didn't finish it initially due to illness, and finally got back to it a year later.
