★★★★★ "A page turner for sure!" - Reader Review ___
After her grandparents passed away, Louisa is forced to go back to her hometown and deal with the lies of her past that threaten to devastate her future.
Between her high-powered job and handsome venture capitalist fiancé, Louisa Brian has a picture-perfect life. A former debutante born into a socialite family, she’s neatly tucked all the questions about her past away as she forges a new future in Atlanta.
However, when Louisa’s grandparents, the only parents she’s ever known, pass away, she returns to her hometown of Savannah, Georgia, to discover she’s inherited much more than an antebellum house on the marsh.
It seems easy at first. Go home, move some assets, clean out the house and then return to Atlanta. But, as she goes through her childhood home, she discovers secrets about her past that make her rethink the stories she’s been told about her parents- and why they left.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I will be reading more. This is a good story about family secrets and how to maneuver your life when secrets have been kept from you your entire life.
Louisa is planning her wedding with her fiance Henry. She loves her fiance but she isn't sure she wants the big webbing and she is afraid to tell him. Her grandfather died years ago and she loved him with all of her heart. It was hard for her to move past that. Now her grandmother has died suddenly and she has to go to Savannah to take care of the funeral and her house. Louisa was raised by her grandparents and never knew her real parents. Her best friend goes with her to help her in Savannah but she tends to push her fiance away. Louisa struggles with trust.
There are some big secrets that have been kept from Louisa so now that she is all alone in the house where she grew up, she is determined to find out these secrets.
Why was she raised by her grandparents? What happened to her real parents? There are the secrets her grandparents have kept from her? Will Louisa and Henry get married? The author takes us on a few twists and turns until all these answers are revealed.
Once I got into the book, I couldn't stop reading. I had to know all of these answers. I recommend this book to anyone who likes family drama and a good mystery about family secrets.
Loved this book. I could feel Louisa's turmoil and sadness. And the secrets she is trying to find in the old house. Then she finds a lot more secrets than she bargained. Love the fact that Henry is there for her even though she tries to push him away. I gave it 3 stars because I felt the ending lacked the umph the rest of the book had. I seemed to drop right off and lacked something.
Louisa lives in the city, has a fiance and appears to have a perfect life. Her grandparents died and she went back home to Savannah to settle the estate and seek some answers. Who were her parents and why did they leave her with her grandparents when she was 1? What she learns are things she never expected. Very good read.
