Clare is a British Christian author. She lives in a small town just outside Reading, England with her husband, whom she married in 1992, their two of their three grown up children, unfriendly mini-panther, aka Tilly the cat and new addition Ty the dog.
Clare is half English and half Welsh, which makes watching rugby interesting at times as it doesn’t matter who wins.
Writing from an early childhood and encouraged by her teachers, she graduated from rewriting fairy stories through fan fiction to using her own original characters and enjoys writing an eclectic mix of romance, crime fiction and children's stories. When she's not writing, she can be found reading, crocheting or doing the many piles of laundry the occupants of her house manage to make.
Her books are based in the UK, with a couple of exceptions, thus, although the spelling may be American in some of them, the books contain British language and terminology and the more recent ones are written in UK English.
The first draft of every novel is hand written.
She has been a Christian for more than half her life. She goes to Carey Baptist where she is one of four registrars.

This is a little Christmas in July story. The story is set in a smallish town in England.

Chrissie (a/k/a) Christmas Daniels finds herself racing home to take care of the family business, Hollies Christmas Emporium, following a medical emergency suffered by her father. Chrissie is a young woman with an important job, a partnership is some business firm in London. She has not spent as much time with her parents, as she would like, because work keeps her on the go.

When she returns she finds the business in terrible financial shape. In fact, the Bank is about to foreclose on the business in a very short time. Furthermore, Chrissie's father has borrowed money from loan sharks, who come to take out their revenge and repayment in typical fashion.

While Chrissie struggles to come to decisions about her life direction, she begins to fall for Matt, the man, who has become her father's right hand man.

Thus, short little book takes one on a quick trip of finding all the good things Chrissie has been missing in life.

There is a bit of religious reference in here. But, for those, who can't tolerate much of that sort of thing, even in Christmas stories, it should be a minimal intrusion. However, the references add just the right touch.

This is another sweet little romance, where the couple fall quickly in love, and solve the financial problem's her parents have gotten into with their Christmas store. The father is in the hospital, and he was told not to talk about the store. Chrisse has to figure out how to save the store, with the help of a man, who has been working for her parents for two years. Chrisse's real name is Christmas. She has a parnership with a law firm in New York City, but she decides she wants to stay in her home town. This is a Christain romance.

This was really about a Christmas store, and a woman named Christmas - not really about the holiday season itself. It was sweet, and I did find myself getting a little caught up in the story, even though it was just a short one. However, the religious message did get a little heavy near the end, for those who might want to avoid that.

Cheesy, Christian, Short story! I felt like I was reading a summary instead of a book. I'd pass on this one, unless you need to fill an hour of your time.

Pretty predictable and cliche. Very short and easy to read though. Took me less than an hour.
