[Orpheus no Mado] #1

Orpheus no mado is the greatest manga I've ever read and i read tons of manga!
Though not as commercially successful as The Rose of Versailles, Riyoko Ikeda once said that she thinks that her work in this surpasses her work in Rose of Versailles.
It is a saga of Russian revolution. It started with a legendary window in all boys Catholic St. Sebastian Music Institute in Regernsburg Germany. It is said that if a man look through the window and see a woman they will fall in love but it will end tragically like the story of Orpheus and Euridice.
Two boys, Isaac and Klaus was at the window and see Julius, a girl disguise as a boy , and their lives are changed forever.
This manga follows through their lives in Regernsburg, St.Petersburg, and Vienna with the tumultous history background of Bolsheviek revolution and World War I. As typicall Riyoko Ikeda's story it ends tragically.
There are so many characters in the story interwoven in Julius, Isaac and Klaus's lives with their own tragic story and there are so many death in the manga that i think Riyoko Ikeda really loves sad story.
From this manga, you can see that love cannot conquer all but it is strong enough to change your life.

This is, by far, the best manga I have ever read. The way it unfolds, the tragedy, the historical events, everything is extremely well done, planned and told. A must read if you are into mangas!
