Children can read along with their favorite songs (with musical notation for parents) and enjoy Rosemary Wells's sunny illustrations. "Parents, caregivers, teachers, and anyone involved in preschoolers' lives should find this title a must-have." - School Library Journal

Rosemary Wells is an American writer and illustrator of children's books. She often uses animal characters to address real human issues. Some of her most well-known characters are Max & Ruby and Timothy from Timothy Goes To School (both were later adapted into Canadian-animated preschool television series, the former’s airing on Nickelodeon (part of the Nick Jr. block) and the latter’s as part of PBS Kids on PBS).
This is a short and simple book based on the ‘Bingo’ nursery rhyme. I enjoyed the terrier illustrations, this was nice enough, the cute terrier illustrations saved it from being 2 star.
The suggestion to try other words to the song (TINGO, WINGO, etc.) was a twist. The suggestion to read to children 20 minutes daily was spot on. The dog in the illustrations was appealing. But somehow the package fell flat.
This book has multiple benefits for young readers. First off, the illustrations throughout the book are bright and eye catching as children get to see how a Jack Russel Terrior plays throughout the day. Because of the use of a familiar tune called BINGO, children have a blast singing and memorizing the words throughout the book. By memorizing, children are encouraged to flip through the pages and pretend that they're actually reading the words. This is the perfect situation to encourage kids to keep reading and working on harder and harder books, developing their reading skills. This is a very good introductory book to how fun reading can be!
This was the first time, DS actually "read" to me, before he was 2! OK, it's just letters, but still that was something for me. He's picked it up in the board book bins 3 times and we usually end up reading it over and over again. Seriously fantastic! Simple and still fantastic.
This is a fun sing-song book for younger readers. This book is about a farmer has a dog and he names her Bingo. Then he makes up a song by spelling out her name. It is a great use to teach children how to spell.
