I remember this timeless children's song from my childhood. I sang it to my children, grandchildren and am now sharing it with my first grandson. Rosemary Wells has illustrated a delightful board book to pass on this wonderful song, to more generations. Sharing ageless children's songs from time's past is the best way to introduce these simple but innocent stories and poems to our children and to spend time with our young ones, to encourage reading and song!

This book is a very simple read. Our younger children enjoy being able to look at the pictures and tell what the story is without having to have someone read the few words that are on the pages. We have the board book within our classroom and we set the book open for the infants to look up at the board book while laying on their tummy.

I thought it might be nice to put some pictures to the song for my babe. There is a random goose with no explanation, the waterspout is practically out of the frame... I could go on. Not a good representation of the lyrics in my opinion.

Not the best board book out there. If you are getting this book just for your child to play with and not actually read/look at illustrations it's as good as any. My biggest frustrations with this book is that each page has three words. Also it's really hard to see the spider. I feel like the illustration could've done so much more and had brighter colors. Not much options to ask questions about the pages. And yes there is a goose and chicken. Mother Goose? who knows.

I got this as part of a set from the hospital when Natalie was born. It was okay, but it didn't do anything special with the classic rhyme. I didn't really get why there was a goose.

This is a cute book with illustrations to go along with the words to The Itsy Bitsy Spider. Inexplicably, a goose and a chicken are along for the ride (and possibly narrating--who knows?)

The Itsy Bitsy Spider board book did not win any awards I could find. It is a simple board book with illustrations and very small sentences. I would recommend this to pre-k children. It is the traditional lullaby of Itsy Bitsy Spider. the fun part about this book is that it could be read with a lullby tune or simply reading it. I would love to have this book in any pre-k classroom.
