Stories We Tell Ourselves: The Paintings of Richard Killeen

Rate this book
Richard Kileen sees the artist's role as being both a cultural commentator and a cultural shaper. The body of his work covers some 3000 artworks that are diverse in style and subject. The book selects aspects of his work, which includes his realist paintings of Auckland suburban scenes and the strong Pacific patterns of later years. All the paintings in the exhibition are reproduced in this volume, along with an essay on Killeen and a collage of public statements made by the artist.
