Cashdan's expertise as a teacher is amply demonstrated as he outlinesthe steps of object relations therapy, from engagement, throughidentification and confrontation within the therapy relationship--thosecentering around issues of dependency, sexuality, power, andingratiation.
A wonderful, accessible yet very thoughtful, and thorough introduction to Object Relations Therapy. Although it is dated (published in the '80s), I would certainly recommend it to other clinicians.
I found this book to be very helpful l. I'm working with a client with Narcissistic Personality Disorder and this book has given me tools to help with therapy.
