While the Silver and Gold Fleets struggle to recover from their Great Battle, the "Grounders" are safe from the plundering of the space clans, and when renegades target a world for destruction, it is up to a Grounder spy to thwart any alliance between the clans. Original.
I really enjoyed Rutledge Etheridge's previous book so I bought this one when I found it.
It wasn't quite as good. I think it's because there are too many madmen. It makes sense that there'd be a lot of people going nuts with the societies set up but it also began to feel like a crutch.
I have hopes for some of the characters: Dane and Naomi.
I adore everything I've ever read by Rutledge Etheridge. The tactics and strategy of space battles and hand-to-hand or mind-to-mind combat are all brilliant and thought-provoking. The scale is epic. The characters are flawed, beautiful, memorable. One of the most undersung authors of the space opera and military sci fi genres, according to me.
