An unabashedly attractive and gregarious female who's job is to follow male co-workers' (that she must "love" to be able to properly read their minds) thoughts telepathically would be the most "understanding" person I can hypothetically posit.

ALL of the hetero men would be thinking about having sex with her in all types of (sometimes utterly bracing) ways spanning a full spectrum of sexual fashion and fetish EVERY time they came into contact AND whenever the men thought about her with hysterical/unbearable frequency whether they intended to or not- even when they tried their best NOT to think such bio-natural thoughts.

REVIEW IS FOR THE ORIGINAL NOVELETTE

Pretty good sci-fi detective story. It's not Niven's fault but I couldn't get into this one as much as his usual stories. I'm not big into crime/detective stuff but I figured I'd give this a shot since I like the author and the concept seemed interesting. Definitely wroth your time if you like Noir/Crime stuff but wasn't exactly my cup of tea. 3.2 out of 5.
