Jazz Baby, join the band. Blow your horn, tap your feet, pound your drum. Jazz Baby, make the music. Jazz Baby, dance to the music. “Jazz Baby” is a clever “pat-a-cake” book with a rhyming text, a lively beat, and charming illustrations. A treat for young and old readers alike.
No real story line, but kids will have fun snapping their feet and pretending to play the various musical instruments the words encourage "Jazz Baby" to play.
The bright, cheerful pictures and rhymes are a nice introduction to musical instruments and dancing for young children. The rhymes are reminiscent of jump rope songs.
Title: Jazz Baby Grade Level: Preschool- 3rd grade Summary: This is a songbook that has an upbeat rhythm. It is fun and energetic, and shows many different instruments. This short songbook has brightly colored illustrations that help set the mood. Review: I thought that this book was a fabulous songbook for young children. I loved that it showed the different instruments. The book has illustrations of children singing, dancing and enjoying music, so it really helps the reader get into the book and lets the children relate to the children in the pictures. In Class Uses: 1. You can use this book to teach the children different instruments. 2. A gym or music teacher could use this book to get the kids active and dance and just let loose.
