Emma McClain's Poems from Still Waters Running Deep, I was immediately immersed in the array of emotions, love and faith, that span over four decades of the author's life. McClain's poems have a deeply spiritual essence, it is a composition of her personal adventures intertwined with a deep connection to the divine.

The collection has a rich imagery of the natural world. The descriptions, had me in a place of serenity, (for example the recurring mists) and each piece had a certain intimacy to it.


A favourite, "I am Christian," emphasizes the complete embrace of unconditional love from the divine God Source. There were other verses like "Shepherd and Lamb" which convey important messages that our human frailties are always overshadowed by divine grace and unconditional love.


The author had a knack for blending biblical tales into her verses without directly quoting bible scriptures, which i think will appeal to a wider audience and get the messages across without preaching.


A heartfelt book of poems about life and ones journey through the eyes of faith. Recommended for any souls out there, seeking comfort and enlightenment.
