Digitization in the Real World highlights 34 cases of digital collection building in libraries, archives, museums, and cultural heritage institutions throughout North America. This book is written by practitioners for practitioners focusing on lessons learned from small to medium-sized digitization projects.
A bunch of short, helpful case studies. I would have liked to see more technical documentation and discussion of how digitization projects interact with organizational policy; but I think the lack thereof speaks to the state of real-world digitization by small (or non-) institutions in 2010.
