The Purpose and Power of Authority: Discovering the Power of Your Personal Domain

Rate this book
In Understanding the Purpose and Power of Authority , best-selling author Dr. Myles Munroe turns the widely accepted but counterfeit concept of authority upside down. Then, he reveals God’s original intent, showing us how to live in the freedom of our own personal authority in God’s great design and to respond positively to the inherent authority of others.
Many people view authority as something oppressive, stifling, and even fearful. All of us hate to be controlled or manipulated. Our negative concepts and experiences of authority produce life-draining emotions—fear, distrust, suspicion, friction, defensiveness, antagonism, stress, worry, and dread. Others have a limited perspective of what authority means, believing that only people who reach a certain “level” in life can exercise it. They don’t believe they could ever be called to a place of authority.
The truth is, we were all created for authority, and we are all answerable to the authority of others. Authority is what we’re authorized to do by our inherent purposes. You have a God-given calling to develop your own personal authority to carry out your unique purpose in life.

Dr. Myles Munroe is a fantastic teacher of life principles. I have been reading his works for many years now, starting from my earliest formative years as a teenager. He is indeed an inspiration.

In this book, Dr Munroe digs deep into the essence and necessity of authority and proves biblically that it is the only responsible framework for mankind to function. It produces order, protection, legitimacy, interdependence and fulfillment (of God's grand purposes).

Furthermore, he makes it clear that staying in our realm of authority does not make us better than others, it only creates order and structure; as we ourselves are called to submit to others' authority when the need arises and especially because for everyone, authority is limited.

Let us take this thoughts to heart and discover the area of our authority so that we may also inspire others to discover and live in their God-given authority.

But we must approach Christ, the Authorized Dealer, first before we can enter into our rest in life. He says, "My yoke is easy and my burden is light and you will find rest for your soul".

Amazing to understand from the author that individual poses the abilities to ignite their own will power that authorized them to decide between mediocrity and supremacy.

Seeing how people hate rulers I realize how important it is to recognize that, whether good or bad, God has a plan for them that is set apart. Dr. Myles explains it so well.
