Once upon a time, Eden had it all; she was one of the most successful young singers in the UK, and the darling of the pop industry. Life couldn’t have been better. But just two years after a sell-out tour, Eden is regarded as a has-been, better known for her drinking and the kiss-and-tell stories that a string of men have sold to the papers.
Desperate to get back in the big time, Eden begins recording a new album with songwriter Jack Steele, a man who drives her crazy for all the wrong reasons. And then she’s asked to be a judge on the TV talent show Band Ambition. It’s just the break she needs and she’s determined not to mess it up, so falling in love with Stevie, a contestant on the show, is probably not a very good idea. But Eden has always followed her heart, and she is sure Stevie is 'the one'.
Born as Katie Infield in Brighton, East Sussex, England on May 22 1978, I changed my last name to Price when my mother Amy remarried. I have an older brother, Daniel, and a younger sister, Sophie.
Although I had many interests when I was younger, a friend suggested that I should pursue a modeling career. So I sent a few shots to an agency and was taken on. I attended loads of castings, had my fair share of negative responses then one day, in a studio next to where I was working, a model failed to turn up for a shoot. The photographer asked around if anyone would be interested in doing a topless shoot… and the rest, as they say, is history!
My topless modeling career took off in 1996 when I appeared in The Sun as part of the ‘Page 3′ pictorial. The legendary section of the tabloid features a different girl each day posing topless. I was the first topless model to grace the Page 3 for a whole week – fully dressed on a Monday, then each day revealing more and more untill Friday – full topless. The exposure boosted my career and I soon became one of the UKs most famous models, under the pseudonym ‘Jordan.’
From there on I graced many magazine front covers , not just in the UK but also across Europe. My popularity soon reached even further afield and I posed for Playboy, landing on the front cover of the September 2002 issue.
I have been through many well-publicised relationships. And my illnesses, including the removal of a tumor from one of my fingers and complications with my pregnancies and family, have been very public.
3.5 ⭐️ =Quite Good. Now I know that this isn’t the most intellectual of books- but I’m not a book snob ,(this really irritates me) and for me, at this present time, it was just what I needed. I prefer to mix up my genres as I get bored if not. A predictable storyline , but with strong characters . A smattering of sex thrown in but nothing that will make your eyes pop out on stalks. Just something for you to be aware of. An easy but enjoyable read.
I really enjoyed this. Criticism for these novels, written by Rebecca Farnworth are usually because the book has Katie Price's name on or people tend to call it trash, rubbish etc but I love a good trashy novel and this was definitely that. If like me you find the X Factor stale then check this book out, as it is X-Rated Factor without the ads and the sob stories.
The one thing that annoyed me about the book was the character names. Some of them are just dreadful. But this seems to be a recurring theme in Katie's books. This book follows Eden as she tries to become the huge star again that she once was. She becomes a judge on Band Ambition and embarks upon an affair with a contestant, Stevie who is overconfident, cocky, arrogant etc, everything that chick lit women seem to love. The whole thing though just felt predictable as on the other side we have Jack, sweet, nice Jack who is helping Eden out with her album and confusing her at the same time as to how she feels about him and Stevie. Cue a whole book about a secret relationship and lots of repetitive sex scenes.
What I liked about the book was references to previous books, Angel Summer was mentioned and Jez and Rufus appeared a lot in this book. The only problem was that Eden could have been Angel, there wasn't anything significantly different about her and the fact that she was calling Jez her BFF was just stupid as he is Angel's BFF? But it just makes the world a bit more realistic that characters from other books are mentioned.
Overall this book isn't going to win any literary awards, it isn't going to be a classic remembered in 100 years but it is an enjoyable trashy read and book snobs need to realise and get over the fact that there are people out there that sometimes just want to read books like this. I would like to know how much input Katie has in these novels though, be interesting to know.
First of all, I know that as a 20 year old boy, I am not the target audience for Katie Price novels. However, I am a huge fan of Katie's, so therefore I have read all of her books and don't really care what people think about that. I am also fully aware that Katie doesn't physically write the books herself and employs a ghost writer, but Katie is involved with what happens in each chapter so essentially, it IS her story. With all Katie Price novels, there isn't much to think about whilst reading them, and that is something I strongly love about her books. Sometimes you don't want to read something that requires a lot of thought, and instead want to read something light and still entertaining, and I think Katie Price's novels are the best kind for that!
The Comeback Girl tells the story of Eden Haywood, who was once a famous and successful pop singer who had it all, but is now more known for her troubled personal life and kiss-and-tell stories her previous boyfriends have sold on her. The book is pretty much about how Eden becomes a judge on fictional TV talent show "Band Ambition" (which totally isn't a rip off of The X Factor at all...) and falls in love with Stevie, a contestant on the show, whilst trying to reclaim her celebrity.
I personally really enjoyed this book (like all Katie Price novels), and not just because I'm a Katie Price super fan! There isn't anything really significantly different about this book plotwise than there is in her other books, but to me this book is my stand out favourite because I liked the idea of a fallen from grace celebrity trying to reclaim her fame, but then falling in love with a contestant on a show she is judging...which is surely a recipe for disaster!
I read this book in 2011 shortly after it was published, after meeting Katie. What drew me in was the shiny gold hardback cover sleeve, which was stacked on the table Katie was sitting at when I met her. This was the first of her novels I ever read, and have since purchased and read all of her others.
I think if you're looking for something quick and light to read while you're on holiday maybe, or while you're on a long train journey, this is a perfect choice. I would warn young readers that there is a lot of sex scenes involved in all of Katie's books, so I'd bare that in mind if you're thinking of buying them for younger audiences.
Not ashamed to admit it but Katie price novels to me are my guilty pleasure it's a Light hearted novel. Ok fair enough it's not the most well written book but its nice to read something like this now and again!
Took my a while to start to get into it, as it was so slow and boring. Repetitively boring.
I've read all of her YA-Adult fiction books and I've definitely noticed a pattern on the story line, so it's not hard to figure out what happens in the end. It's very repetitive. Female likes a male and they end up getting together very briefly, which leads to the female being rejected and then the female finds another male in which she falls deeply in love with and then after the majority of the book, she realises she loves the first guy and that the second male she has been with has been cheating on her from day one, and then the female goes into a depressive state and couple of months later is marrying the original male. The end.
All main female characters in Katie's fiction books all think they're not as pretty as they are, and as soon as Jez and the make-up artists are introduced, the female characters are suddenly beautiful-model type material.
Quite a few grammar/spelling mistakes too, which isn't a good look for Katie or her ghost-writer.
Her Angel series were much better. The Come-back Girl is quite boring compared to it.
Well let me just start by saying it's typical katie price, or should I say her ghost writer as we all know she doesn't write her own book I don't know how much input she actually has into the creative part of the writing but im sure it can't be much. Anyway I've read most of her other books including her numerous autobiographies. The writing is very poor and is typical chick lit girl desperate for love but always falling for the wrong guy, the only difference is that the main is a pop star whose career is on the downfall. No matter how dire he story or the writing is, you just can't put it down you just need to keep reading to find out if she ends up with the right person and if her career gets back on track. I did enjoy the book but I think i will keep that to myself haha! I read all sorts of books wouldn't let a book being aimed at women stop me from reading it! You never know the book you're too embarrassed to let anyone know you're reading could turn out to be an amazing one! Sadly that's not true with this one. The story throughout is rather predictable but she has a way if just getting you to want to read on!

But is Eden setting herself up for another fall.
Disappointed with this book, think Katie/Jordon is using her real life in the books so they are going downhill just like she is
Eden Haywood is a failed pop star her career is on the line, with her bad publicity and fights she gets into!! She begins working with Jack Steel (hottest songwriter) on some new material. She finds jack very attractive, she is then asked to be a judge on the TV show Band Ambition, however she is attracted to Stevie one of the contestants from the band she is working with is she in love? But is it Stevie she really wants? And are things about to get better or worse? I read a lot of bad reviews on this book, I am glad I borrowed it from the Library it was an ok read but I wouldn’t recommend.
I must admit I find Katie Price books to be my guilty pleasure! This book hasn't changed my life, I didn't spend hours thinking about it after but I did enjoy reading it. I would probably read more of her books to, I read 'Angel' when I was about 15 and loved that one to :)
I really enjoyed this book overall. To start with it took me a while to warm to it but in the end i couldnt put it down. Although it was a little predictable and i can see the resemblance between some characters and real people in katies life i enjoyed reading it.
this has to be the shallowest book ive ever read. how could a girl heal from a heartbreak so quickly then jump into another relationship in no time. not to mention marriage!
I really do enjoy reading Katie's fictional books. Likeable lead characters. Good chick lit topics. Easy to read. This didn't disappoint. An enjoyable book

("Now"). "Glam, glitz, gorgeous people ...so Jordan!" ("Woman"). "A real insight into the celebrity world". ("OK!"). "Brilliantly bitchy". ("New"). "The perfect sexy summer read". ("New Woman"). "A fun, blisteringly paced novel". ("Cosmopolitan"). "Celebrity fans, want the perfect night in? I have always adored Katie Price’s books as I just seem to get on with them and fly through them so when I need a little pick me up book wise I always know where to go. I adored Eden as a character and felt for her throughout the book with her bad luck but I also adored Jack from the start and knew how it would pan out. I have to admit the books are predictable but that’s something I like about these books, I was so addicted to it and just wanted to get to the next chapter. I really did enjoy the storyline and characters and this was definitely one of those books I can say I really did enjoy.
