About the author

Lorijo Metz lives with her husband and little brown dog in the great state of Indiana. Though she has a degree in acting and directing, she much prefers the anonymity of the keyboard, allowing her characters to revel in the spotlight while she sits quietly sipping tea or coffee, nibbling on cookies, and dreaming up ways to complicate their lives.

In 2013, Lorijo made her début as a lyricist. She wrote the lyrics for the title track on PUPPY DOG JIG, performed by children's singer and songwriter Owen Duggan on his newest CD.

This was a very educational book when it comes to telling young readers what makes Geese such an interesting family. Filled with great photographs, young readers will learn the different types of geese, what they do on a daily basis, and how they influence our lives. A great resource book for any youth non fiction collection.

Geese have interesting habits. I used this book to parallel the habits of geese to how we can take care of each other. Geese and humans can learn a great deal from each other. This book was an excellent resource for me to use in teaching a lesson about taking care of one another and leadership.
