Seemed like more of a basic guide for competitive running than an in-depth guide to elite running. There are some good nuggets on various aspects of running, but again they aren't too detailed. Nevertheless, it was entertaining and a book I'd recommend to any runner.

This book is a wonderful look back at the elite runners from the late 70’s and early 80’s. It covers their training methods some of which have changed and some of which are still the same. Marty Liquori, and the great runners from Finland and New Zealand are featured. The legendary coaches like Jumbo Elliot also contributed to the work.

Pretty phenomenal old school advice. I need to tweet some of the more memorable quotes.
