I've read quite a few S/D stories and this one really gets into the psychology of the domme female (as does Power Play) - such as this part:

>"He obeyed slowly, painstakingly slowly, as though his joints were rusty and needed oiling. And when his hands finally peeled away from his face, he looked redder than she'd ever seen him. Suffused with a kind of embarrassment she couldn't even imagine. She tried to picture how many times he'd written that third one on his little piece of card, then crossed it out or thrown it away or tried to pretend it didn't exist.
>"His bravery made her heart swell - though naturally, she didn't let it show."

She's so poetic but it's realistic at the same time.

Stein is always such a thrill to read. I never know what she's going to say next, how she'll create a character and what they will say and do - or think. She isn't pegged into any one particular niche in which the characters start to seem like they're the same. She's also deep into the mind - even for the short stories where there's limited time to get to know the individuals.

I read several BDSM novels, but I've only read two other novels where the man was the submissive, well really one because the other was a GLBT novel. While I thought they were sexy reads, I didn't get either of them. I got this one. Despite the short space, Ms. Stein did an excellent job of illustrating Oliver's need for submission and Clarissa's reluctance and then ultimate attraction to giving into Oliver's needs. I don't really have much to say on this quickie. I liked it. The smexing was hot, and in addition to the smexing I was impressed with how Ms. Stein didn't make it just about sex. I felt the emotions and the love between Clarissa and Oliver.

This is an author that I would read again.

I really, really liked this- it's one of the few romantic pegging-stories out there, I love how it puts the emphasis on the (loving!) relationship between hero and heroine...pegging is my pet-fetish, and I liked this scene tremendously.
It could have been lots longer, and I was a little bit sad that it was so short, but I loved it nonetheless.

I have little memory of this, which perhaps speaks volumes. It's about a woman discovering her dominant side. CS has written about this in other novels and done it better in those other novels, in my opinion. That said, this was better than an awful lot of erotica out there - I'm grading on a curve with my star rating here.

Absolutely marvellous. For such a short story, the characters were immediately real and adorable. The sex fantastic and so much fabulous illustration of trust and gender roles/expectations. Also, in amidst all the Charlotte Stein menage stories I've got at the moment, this comes as such a welcome refreshing change where the focus is only these two and such a lovely relationship it is too. I'd so love to see a sequel to this. Hee hee.

Very short and quick read. I LOVE Charlotte Stein and domme stories. My favorite book of all time is her masterpiece Control. I can re read that one a million times and not tire of it, sigh...

This one follows a couple as the girl fulfills her guy's sub fantasies, one chapter at a time.

It is short, so more difficult to connect with the characters, but they are sweet and cute and not annoying, so that's good!

Short, hot and sweet. A typical Charlotte Stein with a sub-curious nerdy boyfriend and a dom-curious girlfriend. She gives him the gift of dominance for his birthday, taking his three little subbie wishes and granting them one by one. If you love Charlotte Stein and want something you can finish in half an hour or so, it's a pretty cute little short story.
