The author used to write a column for my Isthmian league club programme.Whilst this book does give some of the flavour of non league football, at times it feels like an essay written in support of a Masters degree. You wonder what on earth he is talking about.
Since he always seems to be speaking to a communications officer or Vice Chairman he is always getting a rosy and ambitious view of the future. It would have been more instructive to go to a club where a man has put in a lot of money and then got fed up with supporting the club.It would have been more instructive.

Excellent book about non-league football, over 10 years old but still some of the issues in football remain and are still as valid. Any book that references OMD's great song Stanlow has to be worth a read
