Such a great and insightful read. Really opened my eyes to things we choose to overlook as a society. Or at least, I know I do. It’s driven by relevant Bible verses and supported by some pretty interesting statistics.
Overall, really helped me to reflect on my spiritual walk with Christ and made me feel ok with needing to start over sometimes 🙂 thank u Jesusssss ❤️

Ehh, I wanted so much to like this book. I was so excited to read. I am so disappointed it wasn't better. It just seemed the author spent more time quoting other books and authors than he did sharing his own opinion. The book jumped all over the place. I am sure there is an audience for this book. I am not that audience which is unfortunate because I typically love Christian nonfiction books.
I could not stomach this book after just a few pages. First, the quote from Ravi Zacharias on conviction was appalling given what has come to light about Zacharias and his “convictions.” Then the illustration of a leather strap in the woodshed as “loving discipline” was the end of it for me. No thank you!
The age of this book is a little telling when the authors use “television programming” on multiple occasions. Quite an enjoyable read with chapters that are greatly application oriented with other chapters lacking in that area. Overall would recommend reading as one seeks to dive in exploring each fruit of the spirit and the cumulative essence of them.
Such a "sustaining" book! I welcomed insights into each of the different gifts and a vision of how we are called to manifest them. I recommend it for anyone who wants to strengthen his own walk.
This was a really enjoyable read, I liked it! I really liked how it went into each fruit of the Spirit and made everything relatable and applicable. Very encouraging and easy to read overall.
I bought this book as part of my study for a sermon series on the Fruit of the Spirit. This book is nothing more than an evangelical cliche. I was especially offended by the assualt on homosexuality in the chapter on the fruit of the spirit of 'goodness.' The authors trot out a variety of over-used stories and illustrations, that do little to help one delve very deeply into understanding the fruit of the spirit.
Excellent study on the fruit of the Spirit. An accurate exegesis and very practical. I especially loved the study on the “less common” fruit people don’t always preach on, such as self-control, meekness, goodness. A challenging book and highly recommended book for all
The Fruit of the Spirit; Joy, Peace, Patience, Gentleness, Self Control, Kindness, Longsuffering. I had to self examine to seek God's help for me to change my perception on life.
"But remember, 'you have been given the fullness of Christ.' We are not just small containers of God's power and fruit- we are conduits" This book was a great reminder of who we are in Christ and how we have all the tools already inside us to be who He called us to be.
I certainly enjoyed this read but it did feel quite dated in some of its illustrations and statistics. I assumed this was an updated version of the original book but it seems it's just a new cover. Many of the stories or statistics and references to things like technology are from the mid 90s and early 2000s and would be much more effective if updated. Overall though this was an easy read that summarized the biblical idea of fruit of the Spirit well and offered lots of practical tips. Would recommend to a new believer or anyone looking to teach on the subject.
