This is the fourth book about a Bratva family and their women. Here, we get Mandy, who has been searching for her drug addict brother. Will bodyguard Maxim help or are the Romanovs keeping a big secret from her? Several characters and lines of actions appeared in previous books so I don't think this entirely works as a standalone.

Ms. Stone's books are very formulaic and very popular: if you like the über protective, possessive bad boy and the good girl (which is the basic template for all these generic books), you will probably like this. I did appreciate that within the limitations of this world, Maxim wanted what was best for Mandy (and no one with a cat can be all bad). Mandy was almost entirely ruled by her hormones, but likable enough. Personally, non-consent isn't my kink, but I know others love it.

That said, it's impossible to take this book seriously. I realize that no one reads kink books for their logic and that all these bratva/mafia/clan/crew books demand an enormous suspension of disbelief, but there are gradations. Here, I hit defcon 1 levels of magical thinking -- I think my brain may have exploded.

Let me try to explain it to you as I understand it. The Romanovs are drug dealers. But, they're the good kind of drug dealers. Their product is "pure," you see. If anyone gets hooked, it's their own fault because no one's addicted to "pure" drugs (that's been scientifically proven -- didn't you know? Here, let me link to that research in 5-4-3-2...). And, if users do overdose, then they were "careless" because the Romanov drugs are so wonderful and good and "pure" and magical (seriously, they're filled with rainbows and unicorns and marshmallows and those little chocolate sprinkles that everyone loves) that no user could ever, ever, ever, ever possibly go to the ER or rehab or halfway house or morgue.

If the Romanovs are the good drug dealers, then who are the bad? Well, the bad drug dealers aren't hot or sexy or rich. They slink around in dark alleys and sweat and barely make any money and lie to you (the Romanovs, you see, never lie -- not even to the police or the FBI or lawyers or judges -- they're the George Washingtons of organized crime). And their product isn't "pure" -- it's cut with "garbage filler" (so, no marshmallows). Anyone who takes it will definitely become addicted and even die.

So, to recap: Romanovs = good, wealthy, desirable criminals = "pure" drugs that will never, ever, ever have any adverse effect on you. The Jacks of this world = bad, low-life criminals who aren't cute = "poison" drugs that will, err, poison you. I hope you all got that straight.

2 stars. Ms. Stone eats an entire sheet cake and has it, too; in doing so, she writes herself into a corner she can't get out of. My advice to authors attempting these scenarios? Just do "dark:" it'll be much less laughable then, say, a half-baked attempt to create a gang of drug traffickers who aren't really bad. Of course, for HEA's sake, sweet, dear, darling, dumb Mandy (who should know better and for a split second does) swallows this fairy tale hook, line, and sinker. Why, she even encourages -- entirely his own fault, of course. As for me, I'm going to go dry myself off from falling into the deep end of ridiculousness and go about my day. First Note: The prose is better edited than usual, but sharper Beta readers would have caught that Natalie either does or does not know who the Romanovs are. Second Note: There will be other books; I hope I don't laugh.

3.5 - 4 stars!

Surrendered Innocence is the fourth book in the Innocent Brides series and features Amanda (Mandy) and Maxim. Mandy is Anya's friend (heroine from a previous story) and Maxim works with the Romanov family. On a night out, the girls run into some trouble and the tattooed Russian sets his sights on Mandy while Arman handles Anya.

Mandy has shouldered more responsibility than most and Maxim wants to protect her in more ways than one. Maxim decides to help Mandy locate her brother who has been missing and also has a connection with the Romanovs. However, Mandy can't help but run and push Maxim's boundaries at every turn because all she has ever known is doing things on her own and relying on no one. Maxim is determined to show her she is not alone.

"I should warn you, when I want something, I get it. No matter the price. And I want you.”

Mandy is determined to protect her heart and get the answers she so desperately seeks. The affection, punishments, and care Maxim offers her seems too good to be true but boy does she yearn for the safety and love Maxim extends her.

"I love the arrogance, the overprotectiveness, the bossiness and none of it makes any sense to me at all. But when you’re here, when you touch me, it’s like the whole world just gets lighter.”

I enjoyed this kinky and filthy story with an engaging plot . This series does suffer from some recycled formula but I don't care all that much. I loved Maxim and his take charge bulldozer methods and I liked Mandy most of the time. The woman suffered from some TSTL moments but ultimately I found her to be an engaging character. The relationship felt mostly sexual and lacked a deeper element to it but I appreciated the epilogue. I will definitely keep reading these for as long as Measha keeps writing them. They are like catnip to me lol. Overall, an enjoyable dirty mafia romance with a ruthless alpha male and a heroine looking for a home for her heart.

Surrendered Innocence had me on the edge of my seat for one utterly captivating story. Maxim and Mandy had my skin sizzling with the chemistry that ignites between the two of them. This mafia romance was filled with drama, chaos, secrets and enough heat to set the world on fire. Mandy came across as innocent and sometimes a little naive but she also had a strength and determination that shined through and had you even more in love with her character. Maxim was the alpha male to rule all, he was demanding, gruff but at the same time had compassion and love for a woman that needed everything he had to offer. A storyline and characters that held your attention from start to finish.

Mandy has spent the last several years looking for her missing brother. He's an addict and his life went off the rails. She decides to go out with her friend Anya and ends up meeting Maxim.

Maxim works for the Romanovs and meets Mandy when he and his boss go rescue Mandy and Anya. He decides to keep her.

Mandy is very stubborn. I don't blame her. She has spent so long taking care of the world that it's hard to stop. That's why she fights so hard against Maxim. She just doesn't know how to take help so she fights against it so hard.

Maxim is almost as stubborn as Mandy in some ways, but I think he is more stubborn in other ways. It's an interesting connection for sure.

Surrendered Innocence!

Woowza! This is one sweet and naughty read. It was the perfect way to end the week and get my mojo flowing for the weekend! This man loves impact play and punishment. I will say I was hoping to get a bit of shabari that Maxim seemed intent on using....sigh. Otherwise, it was a great, steamy, enjoyable place to zip away to!

Mandy and Maxim

When a fruitless search for her brother ends in tragic truth, the sassy, independent Mandy is just too scared to care anymore. But Maxim, the sexy, dominant Russian enforcer, is determined to be there for her and make her his. So hot!!.

I have been looking forward to Maxim's book since the book Ruined Innocence. He showed up at the club with Arman on the night Anya and Mandy are there together. When Arman takes Anya home, we know that Maxim took Mandy home and Arman said she would be safe but then I was left wanting to know what would happen. Measha Stone lets us know in this book what happened when he took her that night along with so much more.

Maxim is the mafia man, protective, alpha male, possessive and doesn't really take no as an answer. He has been the voice of reason for the guys in their relationships when they screwed up, which is talked about in this book. Anya met Mandy when she was working, and everyday Maxim sat at the office protecting Anya. Mandy thought he was gorgeous and enjoyed having the eye candy around. Mandy has a sad story though and I wouldn't have guessed it. Mandy doesn't have any family except for the brother she is searching for, he is an addict, and she searches for him often not worried about the situations she might put herself in. I loved how the author ties everything together and I had already read about her brother in a previous book. So, when Maxim sees Mandy, he knows he wants her, he isn't sure for how long, but he has to have her. He realizes he wants her for more than just a night or two and is worried about her happiness and taking care of herself. He agrees to help find her brother when she gets the information that her brother had ties to the Romanov family. Maxim goes all caveman and has her move in immediately, he needs to know where she is at all the time. She is used to her independence and fights his rules, but he is always happy to teacher her a lesson. She soon realizes spankings really aren't too bad of a punishment. She begins to develop feelings for Maxim too, but then she finds out the truth about her brother. She pushes Maxim away and he lets her but thank goodness for his friends who now talk some sense into him. I love how the book ended and ready for the next book.

Maxim might act like a cave man, but he is also fiercely loyal and supportive. This was another made men that fell to his knees for a woman. Reading about these obsessed, and possessive men talking about feelings and being wrapped around a woman's finger is fabulous. There was a couple of things happen that I didn't think would and I was interested the whole time. This author keeps your attention and entertains. She also knows how to write some spicy bedroom/anywhere scenes. They are descriptive, there is spanking, dirty talk and some "good girls" thrown in
! I like how everyone talks to each other, the sarcastic comments and humor is so real. Measha Stone has such a good way with words, and you can understand the person's personality. I like to be able to picture the characters and it's always easy to do with this author.

"Be a good girl for me now and spread your legs. Let me see how wet your (kitty cat) is for me. Show me how sweet you can be."

I was excited to get Maxim and Mandy’s story, we got a little of it before but reading it all now in their POV was even better. Mandy has been through so much and is used to doing things on her own without any help, Maxim is an enforcer and is supposed to watch over Mandy. Mandy of course does not like that one bit, the push and pull between Maxim wanting to help and protect her and her stubborn sass is so strong. He of course fights with her to keep her safe and doles out punishment he sees for when she doesn’t listen and lies. While they’re trying to find her brother they keep running into complications and dead ends while also fighting feelings too. A great addition to the series for sure.

Wonderful addition to the Romanov Family, the Trials and Tribulations Maxim encounters from Mandy

Mandy and Anya have been friends for some time and she knows that Mandy works extremely hard and that she has been searching for her younger brother for over three years and has started to visit some dangerous neighbourhoods.

At the club that Any and Mandy have gone to for a drink they are quietly speaking and keeping themselves to them self when three men refuse to take NO!! as an answer to their question. When they become aggressive Anya punches the one in the nose and Mandy who suddenly and forcibly kissed has no other option than to bite him as hard as he can. Suddenly the atmosphere changes because Anya’s husband Armon and Maxim have arrived and have taken the women home.

From this moment Maxim takes charge of Mandy and they are invested as he helps her in the search for her brother as it seems that since the Romanovs had caught him selling their drugs without their knowledge. However they had paid for him to go into a rehab clinic and get the care he needed, unfortunately he had signed himself out early and had then disappeared.

Mandy feeling that she was getting closer to finding out where her brother was had simply stopped her being patient and waiting to have Maxim help with the search of shelters and individuals that had known Percy aka. “Gunner”.

The story simply continues to lead Many on a merry chase and as Maxim does everything, he can to help this woman that had know nothing but pain and misery searching for her brother, she had cared for him when their parents had been killed and continued to blame herself for him having used drugs.
I guarantee that you will love this read but will find it simply impossible to put the book down until you reach the end and discover the outcome, this has been written with real feeling and you cannot help but feel totally involved in this read.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

If you ignore some of the silly plots, and plot mistakes, then it’s ok.

Mandy at the beginning of the book is a desperate woman. Her younger brother has been missing for three years and is an addict, so she walks the streets and back alleys looking for him. When she meets Maxim he kind of bulldozes into her life and takes over the search for her. As her brother is known to the Romanov’s. Maxim works for the Romanov family as sort of security, sort of enforcer.

I did enjoy this one. Surprisingly. Yes there’s control, spanking and hitting her with a belt, (Don’t like the belt.) but there’s not too much of it. Unlike Nikolai’s book which was way over the top. I didn’t like Maxim thinking about other women who he has tied to his bed though. I didn’t get any feelings of him thinking she was anything but temporary. There a really silly part where Maxim rips her clothes in half and her bra. It just wouldn’t be possible to rip it like that. He’s not superman!!

There’s still a lot of the plot missing as well. I still don’t have a clue how old he is, she is, what she looks like, and one that really annoyed me; WHAT IS HER JOB??? She seems to be in charge of receptionists at a doctors surgery, but there’s a practice manager above her.

If an author can’t be bothered to fill out a person so we can engage with them, it’s not a good sign. I give up. It’s a shame as the basics are there but I don’t like any of the family. I hated Nikolai in his book, and I just don’t buy into their romances at all. At the beginning of this book Anya who is Arman Romanov’s wife is leaving her husband. As they’re not working. Yet later on they seem madly in love again.

Thanks greys and Measha for sending me a copy of this book.

The book follows Maxim and Mandy. maxim works for the Romanov family.

Maxim is strong firerce, defiantly not. A man to be messed with but he is kind and has a heart of gold. The power just one look from this man holds is soo blooming sexy.

Mandy is a women who works with adman romanovs wife anya. She has been searching for her brother for 3 years. He was addicted to drugs but Mandy keeps putting herself in danger by visiting dark alleys at night just to try and get a scrap of information. Anything just to know he is okay or if he is alive.

When these two talk or are in the vicinity of each other the spark fly. They are both stubborn but once maxim realises how much danger Mandy keeps inserting herself in he has no other option than to make her understand that she is his and he will punish her if she puts herself in danger again. By the way those scenes where HOTT.

Mandy gets fed a lot of lies but all Macon wants to do is help. She has been alone for so long he just wants to be there for her and take some of the burden. Mandy is too stubborn to see that and is soo scared of loosing someone else that she struggles to let him in even at her own expense.

These two are just meant to be and they are both truely wonderful characters to read. I loved maxims bossy side and some of those punishments damn boy.

Overall a really good book and I can't wait for more.

My Overall Rating is 5 💋💋💋💋💋
My Character Rating is 5 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My Smut Rating is 4 🍆🍆🍆🍆

Amanda is searching for her addict brother, but may be searching in all the wrong places, causing concern within the street drug market and even comes to the attention of the Romanov’s. In fact she confronts one of them, in their own home, with what turns out to be a toy gun. A good way to invite death. Instead, she is offered help from an enforcer within the Romanov mob. Maxim is not actually a Romanov, but definitely is one of their men. He is assigned to control her and ensure she causes no problems to the Romanov’s. His control involves his hands, his belt and his ropes. She doesn’t respond well to his arrogance and bossiness, and he doesn’t respond well to her disobedience and lying. When he takes full control of her two things happen, one - she finds herself physically responding to his discipline and two - he finds he is actually beginning to care for her. Throughout her search she is constantly thwarted and it seems that everyone is lying to her, at least to some degree. When ultimately her brother is located, it is not what she had hoped for and indeed all hope she had in life appears lost. She now faces a real conundrum. This is a dark mafia type story, dealing with illicit drug sales and usage, and all the issues that brings, and violence is never far off. A riveting read. 4 Stars

Surrendered Innocence is the fourth book in the Innocent Brides series. It could be read alone, but there are connections to previous books. Mandy is looking for her brother when she captures the eye of Romanov’s muscles, Maxim. Determined to protect her, their connection grows, but when their mission is over, will he be able to let her go?

Oh my goodness, this book just flew. It was definitely one that I started and enjoyed it so much that the world just slipped away. Mandy and Maxim completely stole my attention and then my heart as their story unfolded and their connection grew deeper. Driven, brave, and at times a little bit reckless, Mandy was so determined to find her brother. Not always knowing who to trust or letting her emotions get in the way got her in trouble, though. Maxim was perfect for her, because he wanted to help shoulder some of her burden. He needed to keep her safe. And once he claimed her as his, there was no return, swoon!! I loved them! I loved their chemistry right from the very beginning, I loved their connection that only got stronger as the book continued, and I loved reading about the mystery of what happened to her brother. This book wasn’t overly dark, and while there are dark themes, this is going to sound a little silly, but I felt like I was coming home in a sense. I love Ms. Stone’s books, so this was almost like a comfort read, haha. So good, though! I’m loving this series!

Surrendered Innocence, Innocent Brides book 4 by Measha Stone, narration by Jay Alder and Kylie Stewart
I purchased this audio book.
Again, I listened to an audio book so sorry if I get the names spelled wrong. Anyway, I enjoyed the life that Jay and Kylie added to the characters. They really do embrace the story when they tell it, and it makes it that much for enjoyable.
This story overlaps with book 2 and 3. Maxin and Mandy. He is the babysitter bodyguard, and she is the new bestie at Anya’s work. They are both interested in the other we find out in the story. We SEE the attraction in book 2.
Maxim is 100% like his cousins…take charge is all things, Mandy. Mandy is much like the other ladies…strong willed and always into trouble. LOL She is one brave girl bringing a gun to a Romanov’s house …smh…..GIRL WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!!????
What I have absolutely loved about this series are characters you think are just random names because a major part of the overall arching plot. We meet Viper in another book, and I didn’t think anything of him and then BOOM Measha shocks us with the importance of this character to Mandy.
If you enjoy BDSM and have read the other books in the series, you will enjoy this story as well. Mandy and Maxin are fun to read. She will not come to heal so quickly and that makes Maxim a wee bit upset. He gets imaginative at times with her “punishments” which of course are delicious reads. *Wink*

Surrendered Innocence had so many emotions with love overpowering it all.

Surrendered Innocence shows powerful family emotional ties can also lead to love. Amanda aka Mandy was searching for her brother who had a drug addiction that started when their parents were killed in a car accident. Mandy was in the car but received minor injuries and her brother Gunner blamed himself. Mandy has been looking for her brother for three years and she was putting her life in danger. Maxim was the bodyguard for Arman wife Anya who worked with Mandy. He would sit in the outer office area and watch over Anya but he was watching Mandy as well. On the night Anya and Mandy went clubbing, they were drunk when three guys tried to hit on them not knowing that Anya’s husband was in the background watching along with Maxim. Anya punched one of the guys in the throat and Mandy bit one of them tongue. Arman and Maxim showed up with security and sent them away and Maxim took Mandy home and stayed the night to watch over her. This is the beginning of the emotional turmoil with the discovery of Mandy’s brother. This was a great book and the storyline showed how drugs can destroy a person and family life. Enjoyed reading it.

★ “That’s not a good reason, moy malen’kiy voin. It’s not even a reason.” ★

—>>> “I should warn you, when I want something, I get it. No matter the price. And I want you.” Mandy had taken on the responsibility of looking out for her younger brother after a tragic accident took both their parents from them, but she has been searching desperately for him over the last three years, fearing he has fallen prey to his drug addiction. But now she suddenly has Maxim in her corner, a man who has been waiting for a chance to step in, it seems, ever since he had noticed her during his short stint bodyguarding his boss’ wife Anya, who had befriended Mandy at work. Mandy has had to rely on herself to get through everything on her own, so when she has opportunities to follow up on leads and clues, she is driven to pursue them, even though it lead to some shady places and characters. Luckily for her, Maxim has firmly taken on the role as her protector, and he guards her emotionally as well as physically from all the potential dangers, even when he has to convince her by using his special brand of punishment to get his messages across clearly when his reasonable requests are not followed. A steamy mafia read!

I really enjoyed Maxim and Mandy’s.
It’s fast paced and action packed.
It’s steamy and dirty. And Maxim’s own way of carrying out punishments.
Not only is it sexy but it’s also an emotional story as well.
My heart broke for Mandy. All the worry and guilt she’s carried and lived with for years.
How sad and heartbreaking.
But that girl is so freaking strong and so freaking determined.
Three long years and she never gave up.
Three long years she left no stone unturned.
Three long years she never gave up hope.
Mandy is powerful in spirit and love and in her love.
She loves deeply and wholeheartedly.
Maxim is a force of nature.
He’s powerful and gets the job done to matter what it is.
He’s protective, he’s possessive and you break not break any of his rules.
Especially his woman. His brand of punishment is pain and pleasure.
But the pleasure he doles out, out weighs the pain.
I loved the way he tried to help Mandy.
He felt her pain as his own and would do anything to lessen it for her.
It’s a bittersweet story but it’s brought to a wonderful conclusion.

The book can easily be read as a standalone, but if you are following the series it is Maxim that was assigned to protect Arman Romanov’s wife at work. Mandy is the firecracker that works with Anya so that is how they know one another.

Circumstances dictate Maxim intervening in an incident and subsequently declaring Mandy as his. Mandy is not in board with this since she’s independent and intent on following dangerous leads to find her brother. Maxim says he’ll help but Mandy is too stubborn to accept anything from Maxim.

We find out how resourceful Maxim is. We also find out how proficient he is in the carnal arts. There is a lot of chemistry between these two, but also be prepared for some resistance from Mandy in accepting Maxim’s help. Maxim responds in a very “Measha Stone” way to that resistance.

I loved how the book ended and hope this means we have more to look forward to in this world.

Amanda (Mandy) was looking for her brother who was drug addict and missing for the past three years. She goes out after dark in alleyways looking for information on Percy (AKA Gunner or Viper) which could be dangerous...hearing from Jack who used to be kid from neighborhood, who used to sell drugs to her brother, that she needed to be careful and make sure she stays way from Bratva...Mandy went out with girlfriend Anya to a club, both getting tipsy...garnering some unwanted attention from three unknown guys, who wouldn't take no for an answer, until Maxim and Anya's husband Armand stepped in...with Maxim taking the drunken Mandy home...but could he know something about Percy??? Why does he think she needs his help finding her brother??? Why does Maxim's saying Good Girl make her want HIM??? You will need to read this steamy story to find out...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

Yeah, we get the story about Maxim and Mandy. Mandy is searching for her brother Gunner/Viper. That’s a big sisters job. To make sure her baby brother is safe. With no luck she and her friend Anya go out for a girl’s night. They sure didn’t expect trouble. When Maxim and Arman show up, it’s all a blur. This girl is going to be the death of him. Maxim doesn’t know what to make of Mandy. He has seen her at the office with Anya. She is pure temptation.

I love that Maxim wants to help her find her brother. It’s sweet. But there are so many lies and dark corners. Yeah Mandy does get into trouble with Maxim. When he tells you to do something, you do it. Punishment hurts. I feel for her. She only wanted to protect her little brother. To make sure he was safe. When we find out what happens, so heartbreaking. I wanted to cry for her. I’m glad that Maxim was there to protect her. There is humor in the story too with his cat. I am looking forward to finding out more about Roman.

Amanda (Mandy) keeps putting herself at risk by searching for her brother Gunner who she hasn’t seen in three years. After a night of partying with Anya (Arman Romanov’s wife) she awakes with Maxim Volkov in her bed. After that one night he makes it his duty to watch out for and care for Mandy, even though she thinks she can handle whatever comes her way.

The banter was good, some off the chart chemistry happening, spicy sex scenes, and with some mafia things to contend with, Maxim and Mandy have their hands full!

While I loved the story between Maxim and Mandy, I just keep feeling that something BIG was going to happen…not sure what…but something was coming….and then it never did. But that is just me….not sure you will feel the same.

Publisher's Note: Surrendered Innocence is a stand-alone novel which is the fourth book of the Innocent Brides series. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

OMG, Mandy is the perfect female protagonist to go up against Maxim!
I was pulled in immediately to the story as Mandy goes searching in some poor areas of the city to try and find her brother while trying to help the people she meets. But while out at a bar with a work friend, they are saved from overzealous men by Maxim who she had seen weeks ago sitting outside her work place waiting for someone. As Maxim decides to help her with her mission to find her brother, but only if she follows his rules. Well that is like telling Mandy to do the opposite which doesn’t work out well for her. While Mandy continues the search, her brother’s friend puts doubts in her mind over Maxim’s boss. How will it all turn out? You have to read to find out and don’t expect to put the book down until you turn the last page!

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. Amanda Spreeman , Mandy, is looking for her brother. Her only remaining family. In her search, she found that he had a run-in with the Romanov family. Maxim works for the Romanov family and the moment he saw Mandy, she was his. Unfortunately Mandy did not feel the same way but decided she would accept his help to find her brother and everything that came with it.

Maxim expects absolute obedience and Mandy is used to acting on her own. She can’t afford to let someone in and deal with them leaving her alone again. Will Maxim be able to break through those wall? The love Maxim shows for Mandy will make readers swoon. The chemistry and punishments are everything readers want and need. Measha Stone does it again. This series will make readers yearn for more.

Mandy is searching for her brother, he’s an addict who has been missing for some time and she spends her time in alleys showing his picture asking if anyone has seen him. Maxim was a Bodyguard to one of her co-workers and when he finds Mandy out with her co-worker one night drinking, he takes her home and decides to make her his. Which, like all other books in this series leads to a whole lot of hot sexy luvin’, spankings, and a bossy, alpha hero protecting the heroine from all hurts, physical and emotional. This was another delicious short read and I recommend this whole series.

Surrendered Innocence by Measha Stone is book 4 in the Innocent Brides Series. This is the story of Maxim and Mandy. This series is a interconnecting one so it does help to have read the previous books I think. But, the second book Ruined Innocence was Arman and Anya story. Anya is Mandy's best friend and so we meet Mandy in that book along with Maxim. Mandy is used to doing things on her own and has been looking for her brother. This has taken her into dangerous areas and situations.
Maxim is a Russian enforcer who has been assigned to keep an eye on Mandy due to the danger that she comes into a lot. This was a exciting read for me...just like the other books. I do recommend Ms. Stone's writing

This is the fourth book in this series and while it can be read as a stand alone I feel it will be better enjoyed if it's read as part of the series.

This one starts off with heartache and danger, and it continues the intense emotional rollercoaster until the last page. It's also my favorite book in the series. Mandy is determined to find her brother and she doesn't care about the risks. Maxim is determined to keep her safe and he's willing to go to any length to make sure she listens to him. There's a lot of angst and emotional drama going on, and the suspense and danger will keep you flipping the pages long after you know you should be sleeping. Seriously, don't start this one at bedtime.

Decent

Surrendered Innocence is the 4th book in the series and while it was a standalone for the most part, there were characters from other books that you wouldn't know about, so probably read the other 3 first before this one like I should've. It says it's a Mafia romance but I feel like there was very little of the Mafia side to it, other than the drûgs, especially since Maxim is supposed to be the enforcer.

The most unbelievable part of the story was the situation with her brother and the Romanovs. Seriously, like jokes galore with that part. I don't want to spoil so that's all I'll say on that part.

Mandy has been looking for her younger brother since he left rehab years ago. She isn't having any luck and her flatmate is about to have a noisy night with her boyfriend so she decides to have a night out at a club with her friend. Her friend has recently married a member of the Romanov crime family. Maxim is at the club as protection but he takes Mandy home after she gets very drunk. Maxim doesn't want Mandy risking herself trying to find her brother but can he make her do as she is told.

This book is a great read. The mafia involvement is low level.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Mandy has been searching for her brother for many years and while working alongside Anya, she is guarded by Maxim- Anya's bodyguard. One night while clubbing, the ladies are accosted by three men, when things get a bit dicey security came and took care of everything and Maxim took her home and guarded her. This started a whole series of events which brings her to discover her brother's whereabouts. This is a great addition to this series and the chemistry coming from Mandy and Maxim jumps off the pages from the start. Maxim's determination and attention to Mandy will melt your heart. I loved this story and was enthralled by the whole thing.
