When Conner gives his girlfriend an antique ring, things between them get unexpectedly... Explicit sex, blunt Short story (7200 words)Look for the other books in the series, The Wolf Hunger and The Wolf Moon.
Meg Harris is a busy mom who spends her spare moments dreaming up worlds a little sexier than the one in which she drives kids around, runs to the grocery store, does endless loads of laundry, and scrubs the kitchen floor. Her chosen profession involves a great deal of time dedicated to imagining sweaty, gorgeous men in the throes of passion, as well as long hours spent poring over pictures of beautiful male chests in the pursuit of the perfect cover. It's a tough job, but she's willing to bear the hardships... all for her readers, of course!
The beginning sounded promising but it just kind of went too fast. The hero's character, for me, seemed so weak and unsure. Heroine was okay but later on so unbelievable that she knew so much, even though she got information from the ring, she was so accepting of everything happening to her. The hero's character was more believable when he was doubtful and fearful of what was happening. Normal reaction versus the heroine's. The story could have been better it was longer and fleshed out. Also a more alpha male.
The Wolf Ring is a regular paranormal romance, not erotica. I really liked the idea of the story but the author didn’t execute it right. I really would have like to read about how the ring came about in something like an excerpt or at the beginning of the story. The hero gives this ring to the heroine but neither he nor she really knows anything about it. Then all the sudden before the end the heroine somehow coughs up what the ring is and what it does? I found this really unbelievable because someone would not know about something like this unless it’s introduced to them and the writer never gave in sight on how the heroine found out.
The characters has a good spark between them so it made the sex scenes that much hotter. All in all if you enjoy PNR and you can get this for free it’s worth the read. I just really wished the beta reader would have pushed the author to go deeper into the story. I hope one day this author would go back and re-write this book because this story is something you don’t find in the PNR world.
3 1/2 stars, This was a good book that I wish was longer, it had a really different storyline that was refreshing. I wish the hero was stronger but overall I really liked it. When Connor saw the ring he knew he had to give it to Faelan his girlfriend, Connor knew she was the one but wasn't quite ready to ask her to marry him but something about the ring called to him. Faelan loved the ring but when she put it on strange things started to happen to her. Soon Faelan realized that only Connor could help her. What started out as a gift quickly turned into so much more and Faelan and Connor would never be the same.
Meg Harris really drew me in to this book I really enjoyed her writing style, and though the story was short it was just what I was looking for. I will defiantly be looking into more of this series and other books she writes, and I really hope she writes a full length book. But for how short this was she really pulled it off excellently.
It was a free read so I wasn't expecting much, but I actually quite liked it. Smooth writing, easy transitions between POVs, a unique twist on something that's become rather trite in fiction -- I thought it was a fun little read. Of course, it would have been much better had it been longer, but as I said -- it was free. This is the first work I've read from Meg Harris, but from reading this freebie alone, I think she seems like a great storyteller. I'm certainly going to look into her.
Was only a so so werewolf love story. Never read from this author before. Glad the book was free, as I don't even feel it would be worth $.99. I may read book #2 if it was free. There just wasn't a lot of depth to this story & the romance was already established. I know there can't be to much detail and growth of the story when it's a short story, but I have read other short stories that were a heck of a lot better than this one.
Umm.... I honestly don't even know how to review these paragraphs, because that is exactly what they were. It was SO short, it was done before I could even process that it had ended. Def glad it was a freebie from on Amazon.com; but at least it could have been a whole chapter, not just a couple pages.
This was a good book for being so short. If it had been longer, I may have questioned a few things. Such as how did they get the door open to run out back while in wolf form. Since it was short, I am assuming the other just figured we would understand one of them turned back to open and close the door. :-) This book was free though, otherwise I would not have gotten it.
This is another one of those rare works where the FMC and MMC are already a couple from the start of the book. This short story follows a legend of a ring that transforms its wearer and his or her partner into a werewolf. It was a new concept to me, one I would have liked to see developed further – maybe in future works? – but overall, the story was well-written and a quick read.
Man doesn't know he's he a werewolf and follows the siren call of the forest where he meets a naked woman. They have several encounters before doing the deed and partially turning.
The characters where very undeveloped and it would have benefitted from being a bit longer.
This one had potential but the execution of the story fell flat... Characters development seemed to be lacking and the story lacked for me (Putting it bluntly I found it to be very boring...) short quick read.
This wasn't a bad story just one that was straight to the point and I mean literally. So overall It was ok... I just wish the story had more depth.....
For such a short story, there was a bit of romance, some truly wild sex, and we still got to know the characters a bit between the rest. Not bad for a short teaser story.
