About the author

Matthew Abram Groening is an American cartoonist, television producer and writer from Portland, Oregon.

Groening is best known as the creator of The Simpsons. He is also the creator of Futurama and the author of the weekly comic strip Life in Hell. Groening distributed Life in Hell in the book corner of Licorice Pizza, a record store in which he worked.

He made his first professional cartoon sale to the avant-garde Wet magazine in 1978. The cartoon is still carried in 250 weekly newspapers.

A fun collection of Treehouse of Horror short stories, in the same vein as the TV show. Some stories are good, some not so much, but overall I enjoyed this book. I was also surprised to see names like Paul Dini, James Robinson and Mike Allred on writing credits in some of these stories! And looking at later issues, there are people like Mark Hamill, Garth Ennis, Gail Simone, Eric Powell, Terry Moore and so many other comic book and pop culture superstars writing and drawing Treehouse of Horror! Now I feel obligated to catch up on this entire series. I haven’t felt that excited about The Simpsons in years!

Full of laughs, Bart Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror: Heebie-Jeebie Hullabaloo is a hilariously funny graphic novel. The book features 6 short stories of the strange and bizarre, along with various Halloween guides, Kang and Kodos advertisements, and Captain McCallister’s Stories of the Briny Deep. The writing is especially good, with a lot of witty satire and clever parodies. And the Simpsons catalog of characters is used incredibly well throughout the various stories and featurettes. An extraordinarily fun comic, Bart Simpson’s Treehouse of Horror: Heebie-Jeebie Hullabaloo is a must read for Simpsons fans.

I can still remember the first time I bought this book, it was the first Simpsons Comic I bought and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I don't know whether I still have it in the house, however I remember LOVING the three pictures at the back of the book and loving the stories contained within. I haven't read many of the comics but if they are half as good as this one then I missed out as a kid.

the funniest part is when one of the monster is looking for human brain then it met homer. it just happened that the monster left him just like that after it shook homer's head. unfortunately...homer got no brain! :-D lol

Wow, I remember buying this years ago when I was in school. I waited over 2 weeks for it to be delivered and loved every moment reading it. I must have been 12 years old or something. I would sit in bed for ages reading it cover to cover. There were cutouts in the book too, but I never did them because the book was just too precious lol.

Apart from the Sea Captain's tales and Abe Simpson's horror story, this was the strongest Simpsons comic book that I've read for a while. Highlights include the Invasion of the body snatchers, the alien adverts and Springfield in Hell.

The Halloween Simpsons episodes are always fun, this continues the tradition of spoofing classic horror movies. A nice nostalgia hit collecting the first 3 Halloween comics with some random Halloween gag stuff. Some laughs & enjoyable for what it is.

The Treehouse of Horror series has always been a great outlet for the Simpsons writers to have fun experimenting with what they can do with the characters & this world, and the comic book versions are no exception.

Featuring a Little Shop of Horrors parody, Halloween survival tips from Ned Flanders, spooky tales from the Sea Captain and propaganda ads from Kang & Kodos, any die hard fan would want this series on their book shelf. Their is clear love & thought put in to every page.

My favourite of the stories were the parodies of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and The Exorcist. I do wish there was less filler, as these were a mixed bag, but it remains an entertaining assortment which make up this book.
