Novels like this just burn me up. I feel like I shouldn’t be upset because I got the book for nothing. But there is an entire series of this garbage. Normally I wouldn’t be so hard, but this novel is an example of everything I hate about what is supposed to be romantic/erotic literature.

First off, there is no development of any kind. There is no description of setting beyond that it’s Montana Territory. There isn’t even enough description to decipher what time period it’s in. This would be forgivable if the erotic scenes were worth it, but they fall short of rape. Pretty much this man finds a woman out in a snowstorm, brings her home, then him and his friend decide that she belongs to them and they molest her regardless of how uncomfortable she is. I should have known this was going to be a terrible book when her rescuer takes time to focus on her “lush breasts” as he is rescuing her! Not to mention there is no relationship developed between her and the two men. They literally decide she belongs to them the moment they get her naked while she is hypothermic then proceed to molest her every chance they get. They visit their neighbors with on a farm with her wearing only one of their shirts.

Seriously. Garbage. Especially since this is one of those novels where the men “know what’s best for the women”, so even if the women don’t like, they put up with it anyway. I have a feeling this is supposed to be set in the 1800s, but thinking like that just makes me nauseous. Oh you don’t want a butt plug shove up your bottom? Well too bad because you’re a woman and you don’t get a say in what happens to your body! That pill would have been easier to swallow if I didn’t have to read on every. single. page that the men take care of their women.

Gag me, please. This is probably the angriest review I have ever written. If I could give it negative stars I would. Absolute trash. Don’t waste your time.

No character development, no real plot.

Essentially a novella with a slim plotline and three charactlerless characters that end up having a menage. On top of that, once again we have men "cherishing" the woman which means we decide everything: what you will wear, how little you will wear, what you can touch.

Ugh. Really just an icky story with no chemistry and a clinical approach to sex. Even with erotica there has to be something between the ears as well as legs.

3.5 stars. 1st book by author. This was Filthy smutty fun. Book was on sale for .99. I won't be reading any of her other books b/c IMO there way over priced for page count.

Some of the sex scenes had repetitive parts. I liked all the MC. 1st ppov alternating between H/H/h.

Did by bother to finish reading this shit.

I get punishment but when Laurel was punished for lying to protect her life, I gave up. You don't treat a person you want to marry the way she had been treated, especially when they knew she lied. She didn't know these guys so why would she tell them who she really was? Fuck that.

This author is going on a never to fucking read again list. It was that bad.

So book 3 did not bring me over to the dark side!!! I find it hard to read and enjoy/submerge myself in a book of its completely unbelievable! Love at first site by not one man but two? Immediate claiming of her and telling her she is theirs?!? Again with cult like feeling of couples and talking/doing sexual acts with the whole ranch characters around?!?! "Tending to their wives needs", "the men know what they need better than themselves" WTF!! Did I fall down the women are lesser, dumber and can't possibly know her own mind and body like a man does rabbit hole? This book offends me as a smart intellectual women who has strength and courage enough to know what is right and wrong, good and bad for oneself! Ugh I hope young women don't read this and think so that's how I'm supposed to be treated, that's the kind of man I'm looking for, someone who "tends" to my needs! It Is NOT!! Shoulda stuck with not reading cowboy/early American set romance and skipped these books!😡

MASON, LAUREL, AND BRODY

The story is another great tale in the Bridgewater series—where each book reads as a stand-alone and could be read in any order. The story will have mention of other members of this unique community of individuals. Bridgewater is a town in Montana that has the uncommon practice of more than one husband per wife—a Mohamian custom adopted by soldiers who served in Mohamir.

What a shock when Laurel’s father, Nolan Turner, brings her from Denver to his home in Montana and informs her he has made arrangements for her marriage. But this isn’t happy news; it is to a Mr. Palmer, a man more than twice her age. Knowing she must escape, she will leave on a horse heading to town, but the snow becomes a blizzard, and she is lost—but death would be better than what her future holds.

Mason and Brody are preparing for this whiteout blizzard. Mason will go out to bring in more wood and hears a horse—knowing none of the Bridgewater animals should be out; he informs Brody he must investigate. Finding a horse that is saddled and injured leads him to discover its rider, and when he brings her inside, he and Brody must work to keep her alive. Looking at each other, they know immediately---she is the one for them.

“It wasn’t an easy task, finding a woman who would marry two men, for that was what we’d have—a wife for both of us. That was our way, the way of the men of Bridgewater—find a woman, make her ours, cherish, protect and possess her for the rest of our lives.”

The story brings Laurel to be found by Mason and rescued by him and Brody during a blizzard. These men are dominant, and while they preserve her virginity, they take her virtue, and they make her feel wanted, needed, protected, and possessed. But that can’t be right—two men and one woman. If they find out who her father is, will they return her to him?

“No one, ever, saw to my needs first. No one had ever cared for me. The love I saw in the trio was heartwarming and heart-rending, for I knew now what I’d been missing.”

The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly of people. Mason and Brody know that Laurel is the one for them—but they also know that Laurel is hiding secrets. When danger comes calling to Bridgewater, will they be able to protect her? Will she want to stay with them? Will her secrets lead to trouble for this community? Mystery, suspense, danger, explicit sex scenes, humiliation, passion, and possession all make up this tale of dominance, submission, and power exchange.

“We wouldn’t give you back to Turner. Don’t you see? We’re never giving you back. You’re ours.”

This book starts off with Laurel running away from home because her dad was trying to marry her off to someone twice his age. She ends up getting stuck in a snow storm, and her horse gets hurt. Thankfully Mason and Brody found her, and saved her life. Her time with them makes it clear she is super innocent. We later fond out that her dad is dead, and her wanna be husband was the killer, and he was after her. This forced Laurel to shoot him. Mason and Brody were there to help her come back from that.

It was too rushed and unbelievable. Mason and Brody spring sexual things on Laurel like there's no tomorrow. And her reaction to it all... It's supposed to be historical, if it was in present, her reaction would be understandable, but it's a time when women were sheltered.
And I would say it have Dom/Sub play, but... It doesn't feel like it, more like males have all control and doesn't matter what she wants.

I was given a copy for an honest review.

This is a HOT read. It is a historical western with a menage twist. I have not read book one, but now I want to.

Laurel runs away from her father who has agreed to her marriage to a man, Mr. Palmer, who is double her age and very repulsive. But she did this in the middle of a blizzard. Lucky for her she has wandered to the Bridgewater ranch and right into Mason and Brody's arms.

She hides who her father is until he comes looking for her along with the sheriff and her proposed groom. The men hide her and whisk her into town and marry her ASAP. Apparently her father has a gambling problem and she is the best.

From the day they rescued her they have been readying her for their plans. They can see that she is definitely submissive in the bedroom and that is what they want.

But Palmer comes looking for her a week after the wedding and has a fake marriage license with him. Apparently her father transferred the land in his will, so he must be married to get his hands on it. Too bad he showed up with a gun and grabbed her. She reacted with a knee to the groin twice and takes off. Brody and Mason come in at the end and officially make her theirs at the same time. With a few dead people close by.

This has definite erotic elements. It has some light BDSM as well. A great read!

Laurel Sinclair is running from an arranged marriage to a business partner of her father. The weather turns into a blizzard and she could be dead instead of married. Lucky for her Mason and Brody are near were her horse throws her and Mason hears the horse as he goes out to restock the wood for their stove. When Mason brings her in it is instant love for both of the Bridgewater men, but she is an innocent and has to learn to trust the two men who have claimed her and learn what it is to be a Bridgewater wife.

This novella is the second in the Bridgewater menage series. Once again, I really enjoyed that his historical/menage/erotica actually had a plot besides just being scene after scene of hot sex. Alternating points of view tell the story and make it that much more interesting. I enjoyed this book as much as the first and am looking forward to reading more.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. Laurel decides to run after she finds out that her father, who she hasn't seen in years, has set up a marriage with an older man for her, whom she doesn't know. She gets caught in the middle of a snowstorm, her horse gets hurt and she is stranded. She is found by Mason & Brody. They bring her back to their home and care for her. A lot happens later in this story that is really good and suspenseful. The only criticism I would have is I wish that this story was longer so that we would get to know the characters better and become more invested in the outcome.

I will definitely read more in this series.

***AUDIO REVIEW***

When Laurel Sinclair's runs away from her father to avoid a marriage to a man she hated and could not stand, well she did not choose a good time to run away as she ran straight into a blizzard.
Handsome and good looking ranchers Mason and Brody find the stranded redhead in the snow and next to her injured horse, taking her in they both come to realize she is the one for them.
The way of one woman marrying two husbands is foreign to Laurel, but she soon grows to love the two protective men who are awakening things and feelings in her that she did not think possible.
But will her happiness be threatened by the secret she harbors? Will Mason and Brody still love her if they discover who she is? And what will happen when her scheming father and the cruel man he wanted her to marry finally track her down?
You will have to read this to find out the outcome, good story well written.

I received a free audio for my honest review!

Their Wayward Bride was an enjoyable, easy, quick book to listen on a quiet afternoon. Kylie Stewart the narrator had nice clear voice, she switched off between character in a different voice which I could recognize instantly.

If you are looking for a book to listen to while do chores, errands, on the way home from work or just relax I recommend you pick up a copy of Their Wayward Bride but caution No little or virgin ears around you will corrupt them for life.

Second in the Bridgewater Menage series, this book can be read as a standalone. This book takes place in the historical Montana territory. The Bridgewater Ranch is run by several men who served in the military together. During their time in an Eastern nation, they picked up, and agreed with, the custom of one woman having multiple husbands to cherish and protect her in world that could be brutal, even fatal it ensured her safety and care. All the men of Bridgewater are either already married with two husbands per wife, or plan to be one day.

This is Brody and Mason's story. They found Laurel almost frozen to death as she was fleeing an arranged marriage in a night that turned into a blizzard. They know immediately that she is the one for them and set about claiming her as their own. The ratio of sex vs story/plot in this book is pretty high. If you are looking for a well researched, historically accurate western era story, this is not your book. It is a sizzling menage book that happens to have a historical setting.

All the books in this serious are what I consider to be dubious consent. Laurel is a naive virgin and doesn't really know what's going on. She doesn't protest, but she doesn't really agree either. Mason and Brody save her life after she gets lost in a blizzard. There is no romance and they don't do a good job of making her understand that they intend to marry and keep her. They disregard her feelings of modesty, having her wear a shirt and socks only to dinner with their friends. They don't even consider that she'll be terribly uncomfortable with her legs showing and this is set in historical times. I also had an issue with the fact that they punished her for putting them in danger, but they knew she was lying and trying to protect herself when she didn't really know them. They should have been more understanding and considerate of her feelings and done a much better job of explaining how they felt about her. Some consideration, real tenderness and understanding would have gone a long way.

Their Wayward Bride is the second in the Bridgewater Menage series and is just as good as the first. Laurel's father is planning to force her into marriage with an older, disgusting man. She decides to run away before it can happen, but she misjudges her timing and ends up in a blizzard and falls off her horse.
Mason and Brody find Laurel and take her home. Laurel may be just what the two men are looking for - a wife to share. Laurel just wants to move on, as far away from her father as possible, and feels very intimidated by the two large, sexy cowboys. Mason and Brody decide they will do everything in their power to make Laurel want to stay.
This series is certainly steamy, but the men only want their ladies to be happy. Will Mason and Brody lose Laurel to her father and her betrothed? Or will they convince her to stay and accept them both? Such a fun, steamy book - highly recommended for readers who like steamy stories!

Vanessa Vale Bridgewater menage Series strikes again. While this is the second book in the series you meet Laurel, Mason, and Brody it can also be read as a stand alone book. Mason and Brody are soldiers in a regiment that has adopted Mohamian custom while serving in Mohamir. Mohamian custom the soldiers practice is that a wife is protected by more than one husband. While this is foreign to women in Montana they quickly become attached to their men.

While trying to avoid an arranged marriage set up by her father to a man that is twice her age she stumbles across the Bridgewater ranch during a blizzard. While getting ready to turn in for the night Mason hears something and goes to investigate only to find a rider with an injured horse. That is where the mystery, suspense, and danger begins. Passion and possession makes up for power exchange, dominance, and submission woven into every word and explicit scene.

Well there still seems to be something missing from this series I do enjoy the smut 😂

This is the 2nd book but if you include the prolog it’s actually the 3rd of the series, yet it’s another story of a woman who was to basically get sold off my a man in charge of her.

This woman road horseback in the middle of a snowstorm so she wouldn’t have to marry the creep her father promised her to.

She would have died if not found by one of the single soldiers living at the ranch. The two guys just had to warm her up!

Her father & his sidekicks came looking for her but she hid, then she legally married one of her two men.

After spending almost a week inside for their honeymoon the guys finally left the house to do ranch chores.

That’s when her creepy ex fiancée tried to kill her, apparently her father left his land in her name so the guy killed her father & was there to kill her.

She ended up killing him & then her men told her what a good guy she was 😆

Once again a great story in the series. Laurel has been away at school but is summoned back by her father. She hoped for a reunion but that is not meant to be. He has sold her to a man that is to be her husband. Laurel runs and this is where the romance begins. Brody and Mason find her in the blizzard on their property and nurse her back to health. They know from the moment they see her that "she" is their bride. The one they have been waiting for. Laurel eventually has to tell them who she is but she fears that they will turn her over to her father. Brody and Mason will protect her with their lives. They want nothing but to pleasure her and show her how much she means to them.

I love finding out about the men. Each is unique in his own way. And cant wait to read more.

I have not read any other books in this series and found this a very enjoyable book but I would never classify Laurel as a wayward bride (probably more of a runaway). I did feel that Mason and Brody rushed the physical relationship (they did find her half frozen and almost incoherent in a snowstorm). Brody and Mason did so much to ease all of Laurel's fears about their way of life and to show that they really care for her. I will definitely be reading more books from this series and this author in general.

4.5 It was good like the last book, sexy, sultry, MFM.

However, I hope that moving forward, the plot changes. Thus far, it's been a woman escaping something, or being some type of victim that gets saved by the 2-man marriage. I'd love for the FMC for one of the books to not be a victim or for the marriage to save her from something else.

Maybe I'm too modern for a constant damsel in distress. There are 11.5 books, I'll give it up to book 5 and if all of the women are victims, I'll just move on from the series.

Another super quick read from an author I enjoy. I've now come to learn and expect going in that I'm not going to get a deep and moving story when I pick up these books. But I do enjoy a nice light, kinky read that is just entertaining once in a while. It's like a mental palate cleanser in between more meaty books. This author does a good job of providing that. I liked the main characters and I got my happy ending. I will definitely continue to read these books.

I love this whole series it's hot the sex is awesome the only thing that I wished was different about them that they were longer and had more action in them like in the first one I would have love to know if his commander finally came for him and what happened to her brother I would have loved to have known what happened to him and his secretary but other then that they were good little reads and I can't wait for the bridge water brides.

Sexual, family, emotional

These father's are the worst. Laurel was shipped off young and only brought back to be married off. Laurel tries to escape to save herself, but it worked differently for her. Mason finds Laurel and saves her, but Mason and Brody claim Laurel as their own. In this story Laurel''s father cause trouble as does Mr Palmer. Find out what happens, definitely read. This is for mature readers.
