Born and raised in the beautiful islands on the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Azores. Inspired by the green fields of Terceira and far away from the crazy life in the continent, i wrote my heart out in every piece of my paper i could find. My characters are in my life since i was a little girl, moving me and inspiring me to achieve my dreams.
I won this book, years ago, in a giveaway here on Goodreads. For this reason, I was tired of seeing this short book on my shelves without being touched, so I decided to give it a try now.
If I had to describe this book in one word it probably would have to be "plain". And the fact is that the whole novel itself and everything it offers is very plain and ordinary, in my opinion. From the storyline to the writing itself, you won’t find anything new or some aspect that makes this novel stand out – it was actually very predictable.
Of course, we must take into account that the author published this book when she was only 18 years old and, for that age, I think this is, undoubtedly, a good starting novel. However, it is not possible to like this novel more for that sole reason, but I believe it should be valued. I do not think this is a terrible novel or something similar to that, but, for me, it was not capable filling any kind of expectation I might have had for this novel (and the truth is that I didn’t really have any kind of expectation for it).
I can see certain readers (especially those who don't read very often) enjoying this novel but I honestly can’t think of this novel becoming anyone’s favorite book, if you know what I mean (but I could be wrong, who knows).
Lastly, I just have to thank the author for sending me this book (even though this is years late) and for the nice dedication she wrote in it for me.
