The Matchmakers- Kimberley Comeaux 7/3/11
Maggie goes on a 7 day cruise with her two great aunts. She thinks it is to keep an eye on them but they have other plans. Her aunts and 8 others from the women's senior group at church. Maggie left the church after Devin came to there as the minister. The first Sunday she met him she knew her heart was in danger. After growing up with a father who put church first, above his family on all matters, she was not going to get involved with a Pastor.

Devin did not understand why Maggie disliked him so but he felt something towards her from the first. He decided to use this cruise to get to know her and within days he knew that friends with her would never do. Great story.

Troubled Waters- Linda Goodnight
A marriage built on love and friendship changes when they become wealthy. Carrie now spends all her time with the kids obsessively. As a child she was neglected. Greg wants her with him but she ignores his needs until the point of them being strangers. Their faith was lost along the way too.

As Greg sees himself losing his family he turns back to God. On a last ditch to get his wife back he is flying her to an island, only the plane crashes on the way. Stranded on the ocean in a dingy with only one bottle of water Carrie sees Greg's love for her but she may lose him now that she sees her own faults and regrets. Great story.

By the Silvery Moon- JoAnn A. Grote 7/4/11
Excellent story.

As Ryan watches the twin brother and sister arguing about the strengths of men and women he throws a challenge to the twin sister to come on their canoe trip with them next month, she accepts.

Ryan and Chrissy have both prayed for spouses to go through life with now that they have just graduated college but both of them think how as opposites they would never suit each other. During the canoe trip both of them see in the other that they may be changing. Chrissy is tougher then Ryan thought and as Ryan quotes from previous travelers of this waterway she sees how poetic it can be.

Between bears, spiders and storms as well as Northern lights and awesome wildlife JoAnn creates a beautiful story.

Healing Voyage by Diann Hunt 7/4/11

Victoria is a rich selfish girl. At 25 all she wants it the 200,000 her father said he would give her. Instead here she is aboard a ship heading for the Philippines. The Providence was full of good doers helping sick people. As a nurse she would be helping the Dr aboard. She would not even wave to her parents she was so angry.

Ben was working with the most beautiful woman, Victoria. He had promised never to date again because the last time he had a girl friend and he was distracted something bad happened so he refused to let himself be happy again, only he could not get Vic out of his mind.

As Victoria gained forgiveness and love from her 3 room mates and seen the happiness in families who had nothing but God in their lives her dreams of getting the money and living the high life started crumbling a bit.

An awesome story of how having everything worldly can be nothing in the Spiritual sense.

Overall, this wasn't a terrible read. It had been on my shelf for so long without me reading it so it ended up in my Unread Shelf Project challenge. It's an easy read but since it's 4 stories in one book that's not that long, the story lines are rushed at times. Also, since they're Christian romances, it can be a bit cheesy and I found myself thinking "you just met!" occasionally, but there were some stories where the characters had known each longer or there was like a "one year later" epilogue and I was cool with that. Again, easy not terrible read that I finished in less than 24 hours.

Well, the first thing I give this book marks for is having all the stories take place on a boat, ship canoe...etc.. It was different, so I immediately was drawn in. All the stories are well written, but my favorites were The Matchmaker's by Kimberley Comeaux (takes place on a cruise and a group of old women that were hilarious) and By the Silvery Moon by Joann Grote (a challenge is issued about a canoe trip and love follows).

The other stories were great too, but those are the ones that I enjoyed most.

Bottom line: Worth buying. 4 great short stories with a watery theme.

Linda did a delightful job on these romances. I loved the settings in these charming tales. I'm not sure which one is my favorite. My mother read it first and I passed the book on to my daughter who is now enjoying it as much as I did. This book will come back and stay in my library for another go around later.
