As Ai and Mew struggle with the emotional implications of their Para Dream, an unknown aura attacks the Academy--the mysterious assailant seems even more powerful than Zerodyne! Mew is knocked unconscious in the fray, and falls into the hands of the sinister Dr. Watabe. Will Ai uncover the dark connection between his would-be love and this unscrupulous scientist in time to save Mew?
Katsuaki Nakamura (中村克明), pen name Katsu Aki (克・亜樹), is a Japanese manga artist best known for his works The Vision of Escaflowne, Futari Ecchi, and Psychic Academy. Mangaka Mine Yoshizaki is one of Aki's former assistants.
This exciting volume of Psychic Academy deals largely with the aftermath of the Para-dream episode experienced by all of those who possess aura power. The triangular relationship between Orina, Mew, and Ai continues. A minor character from an earlier volume becomes a major player when Tokimitsu leaves ASD headquarters to join the students at the Psychic Academy. Isn't he a major threat to Ai? And the ASD forces an ill Mew to return to their headquarters in Japan. Will she remain there, or will her bond with Ai draw her back to the Psychic Academy. So many questions, and so many set-ups for the next volume of this great manga.
This volume is better than the previous one at least. We explore the relationship Mew has with her father. There was definitely less of Zero which I dislike but I also learned new stuff about the world which I enjoyed.
BOTTOM LINE: Better...
*Note: there is quite a bit of fandom in this manga. (Really large breasts, "squishing" and touching of those breasts by Ai, many breast shots and girls in undress as well as girl on girl breast groping.)
