War was coming. Years of conspiring with his brother, of hunting for his lost mother, and war was finally coming. With options and allies depleting, Nelek finds that his newest and brashest bodyguard, Trenna Croften, could be the key to everything he’s been fighting for
A.J. (Aimee Jean) Maguire has been writing about women rescuing their men since 2008. She loves stories in all shapes and sizes, which means her novels tend to run the full spectrum of fiction, but her favorites are fantasy and science fiction. She is currently living her own happily ever after in Central Massachusetts with her husband and son, where they are surrounded by far too many pets. On the weekends she enjoys exploring the many historical sites peppering New England or hunting for lighthouses on the coast.
She graduated with honors from Northwest Nazarene University in 2014 and is a proud veteran. Her time in the military inspired several soldier characters that can be found in her work and she has confessed that she used to carry 3×5 cards in her cargo pockets in case she needed to jot notes in the field.
First I want to say thanks for the opportunity that I got for me to win a copy of Sedition. I was very excited when it arrived in the mail. I couldn't wait to read it.
As soon as I looked at the cover of the book I knew I had to read it. The first paragraph was so captavating that I knew I wouldn't be able to put down the book. When the point of views changed it helped alot. When that happened very view point helped explain what was going on. I can't say I have a favorite character in the story. I liked them all. The story was very good written, everything flowed. When reading I could picture everything that was going on through out the the story. When they were ambushed until the blade was broken. One of the reasons that I enjoyed this story so much was because there was always a mystery behind every character. You couldn't tell what they would do. For example, after Trenna crossed over from the Barrier she knew what her options she had. When it was Nelek's point of view he thought about the options that Trenna would make if she was captured.
My favorite parts would be when Trenna teases Nelek. I thought that was super funny. She is an amazing charater. In the story she is a true hero.

I'm a little out of my comfort zone with the romance element of fantasy romance, but Sedition is a story so skilfully told that I even enjoyed the more 'girlie' scenes.
I did find the opening pages a little slow and disjointed, but it's more than worth sticking with this story. It gets better by the page and builds to an amazing and terrifically written final showdown, with the added bonus of a wonderful twist at the end.
A fantasy novel about trust, honor, and the quest for peace. The title gave me expectations of a serious, somber novel, but "Sedition" is humorous, exciting, and engaging. I enjoyed Trenna's brash confidence, the fast-paced plot, and strong character and romantic development.
This is probably one of the best fantasy books I've read in a long time. Once I got past the first few pages and had the characters figured out it was an exciting page turner. I loved it and was disappointed when it ended. I waited excitedly for its sequel!
I thought this was a nicely paced fantasy book. I believe the characters are great in this book, they have wonderful dynamic that makes the book go smoothly.
