The main character has daddy issues and an annoying need to be the most superior person in the room. There is a sexually aggressive unicorn. The eponymous water alchemy is like a prototype germ theory and its master is an eccentric immortal.

Really, every character besides the alchemist are what drove me away from this book .The alchemy, the story of Corwyn, and wanting to see the main character get over his daddy issues is what kept me powering through this middling book.

Finished it, but was it worth it? Not really.

Wat een verschrikkelijk irritant, naar, vervelend mannetje is dat hoofdpersonage. Op nog geen kwart van het boek (wat ik niet met plezier heb gelezen), heb ik besloten het boek terug te geven aan de oorspronkelijke eigenaar. Geen enkele behoefte om verder te lezen.
Jammer, het plotidee is leuk, maar ik zoek wel een samenvatting op internet ofzo....

An interesting idea, and the environment is appealing, but I found the characters portrayed as a little too dense making the book a bit less enjoyable than it could have been. A quick read, this is one for one of those days when you just want something a bit different and not serious.
