Weeding my gardening books. I have several of the books in this Simon & Schuster's Guide series. They're compact and designed to be an easy reference. The main problem with all of them is that the descriptions use a lot of scientific/technical terms. This guide is no exception and it seems geared toward professional gardeners and academics.
I have another book, The Herb Society Encyclopedia of Herbs & Their Uses by Deni Brown that seems to cover most of this information in a more accessible manner.
Verdict: Too technical, I have more accessible books with this info. Rehome.
A nice, tidy, fairly comprehensive guide to herbs and spices. Entires are not limited to those with straight-forward culinary purpose but also covers herbs and spices used in the cosmetic/perfume industry, as well as those with medicinal uses. Gives concise information about the known chemical properties of items, as well as cultivation techniques.
