Clowns of all shapes and sizes turn the town into a circus in this twentieth spooky adventure in the Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol series!
When Kersville celebrates the town’s birthday, they pull out all the stops. There’s a petting farm, bumper cars, cotton candy machines, and of course, clowns! There’s big clowns, little clowns, smelly clowns, and scary clowns…but every clown wants you to scream for more!
With easy-to-read language and illustrations on every page, the Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol chapter books are perfect for emerging readers.
Andres Miedoso is still afraid of everything as a grown-up, even after all his adventures with Desmond Cole. He lives in New York City with his family, and he remains best friends with Desmond but returns to Kersville only when he's needed.
Won through a Goodreads giveaway, this is a cute little children's book about two friends and getting through their fear of clowns during a clown festival for their town. Will donate to a little free library for a little one to snatch up and enjoy.
Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol Time to Clown Around is the 20th book in this chapter book series that is perfect for young readers. Desmond and his best friend Andres live in Kersville, which is celebrating its birthday with a carnival complete with rides, games, and all sorts of clowns. There are some silly adventures and run-ins with a "scary" clown that Andres believes is a ghost clown. During a petting zoo stampede, Andres is worried that the clowns will cause trouble, but in the end, he discovers that clowns can be helpful and funny.
What I Liked: The chapters are short and filled with illustrations that help young readers stay engaged. There is a large font size in this chapter book, which may be helpful to those just starting with chapter books. The book has a bit of spookiness but it's age appropriate.
Desmond Cole's Ghost Patrol Time to Clown Around is a fun read with a little bit of adventure, humor, and spookiness sprinkled in.
Clowns come to town for a Kerrsville-wide celebration and Andrés is feeling stalked. I read this aloud with my 5.5yo who loves the series. This was solid and entertaining.
