Amidst the hot tempers of the werewolves, Sebastian is well known for his legendary calm. The instant he saw Erica, he knew he would never want another.
With the instinct guiding them to each other and held beneath the sway of the moon, they were irresistibly drawn together. Sparks flew the moment they met, but then she ran from him and the problems began to multiply.
But Sebastian will never let her go, after all a wolf only finds his mate once in his life. She’s his, even if she doesn’t know it. With internal turmoil eating away at them and external threats looming will the oath that binds them be strong enough to keep them together?
Excerpt:
“Erica,” he breathed, caressing her cheek gently. “I don’t want to have to fight you. Can’t you simply accept that we’re meant to be?”
“No Sebastian, I can’t.”
“And I can’t accept that we won’t be together. It seems that one of us is going to have to change their mind and that won’t be me Erica. I’ll be back tomorrow.”
“Is there anything I can do to make you change your mind? This isn’t going to work Sebastian. I can’t take a mate.”
“I won’t change my mind about this sweetheart and you don’t have a choice in the matter of a mate, I’m already here.”
It all began with a simple book and it's been so long now that I can't even remember what it was called, but all it took was one story and I was hooked to reading. One book after another, until my eyes hurt and my wrists ached from turning pages. My poor wrist didn't get any respite when I decided to pick up a pen and paper and begin writing stories of my own. After completing my first book, A Wolf's Duty, I was well and truly hooked. The love of crafting a tale, of creating a world filled with heroes and heroines that you could love and grow with was truly embedded in me.
I live in London and as any city dweller will tell you, a fast paced life does not make it easy to find time to write but seeing so much of the world around you does give you inspiration to create characters that are truly human, people that you want to read about because you've fallen in love with them.
I love fantasy and all things paranormal and my stories reflect this, bringing elements of the extraordinary into the lives of my characters. When I write, the sky truly is the limit because in a world crafted by my imagination anything is possible. Isn't that the creed of all romance? If it isn't well it's certainly something I aspire to...even if there are some rather unexpected obstacles in the way but that's just another joy of writing.
"A Wolf's Oath" is the second book in the Love Bites series and as such references characters already presented to us in book one and even has an appearance from our former female main character Alex and of Sebastian's brother Ryan.
Our female main character Erica is strong, kind and brave, she is definitely a challenge for our dear Sebastian. As a big sister to two extremely cute and intelligent children she is used to being independent and alone but that's all going to change...
Though in the first book Sebastian is described as being shy and calm in this book he is anything but. He comes out of his shell and shows us (and himself) his true self. And I have to say I liked this Sebastian a lot, he is caring and like all wolfs possessive but not overly.
Overall great book, even though it still needs quite a few corrections, it's easy to understand.
This is the second book in the series and was just as enjoyable as the first but the editing and punctuation issues still exist. It’s disappointing when you have to read a sentence or paragraph several times to make sense of it and for that reason I have given it 3 stars.
Although this series is set in the werewolf genre, the wolves in this reality don’t follow the norm. They don’t communicate telepathically with each other, instead having to rely on mobile phones. The female wolves don’t feel the intense mating urge as much as the males do initially. They rarely shift into their wolf forms just because they feel the need to run, they live in clans rather than packs and their wolves are often at odds with their human side which leads to some very funny exchanges between wolf and human.
This book concentrates on the romance between Sebastian and Erica. Although we first met Sebastian in the first book, we didn’t get any real sense of what his character was like. As is normal in the werewolf genre, he is excessively protective of his mate but unfortunately for him, Erica has zero interest in taking a mate…. ever, and she promptly flees from him in the middle of a party. After her father killed himself following the death of her mother, Erica has decided that having a mate is not for her and she decides to concentrate on raising her twin siblings, Dylan and Wyatt. They are absolutely adorable and although they are well behaved, they are as mischievous as any other six year olds, and Sebastian soon falls in love with them as much as he loves his mate. As we get to know the twins, we learn that Wyatt is the observer and he tends to ask questions that Sebastian never seems to expect but Dylan steals the show when she regularly leaves Sebastian puzzled and bewildered with the females of his species with her reasons for getting upset. They are also very ‘matter of fact’ and often leave him speechless which can be quite hilarious. After tracking Erica down to her home, Sebastian manages to persuade her to let him stay so that they can get to know each other better before the claiming. Despite her reluctance to be mated, Erica finds that Sebastian soon worms his way into her heart and to that end, she flees as far as she can go on the night of the next full moon to avoid the claiming and things go from bad to worse. On the last day of the full moon, Erica is captured by werewolf hunters who take her to their base for interrogation but worse than that, no-one knows she’s missing. It’s several days before Sebastian realises that something is wrong and after arranging with his brother Ryan for the twins to go and stay with their mother, he sets off to track his missing mate. Together they find where Erica is being held but just when you expect there to be a HEA, you realise that you’re only a quarter of the way through the book and there’s more twists and turns to come before Sebastian can finally claim his mate.
As much as I enjoyed the book, it would have been so much better and would even have got 4 stars but for the editing issues.
I chose to motor on and read this even though the first was so terrible. I was not wrong: it's as bad or worse than the first. As I noted in my first review, I have deleted the other two from my Kindle as there is no point in going further. The first few chapters of #3 showed me that the author, and I use that term lightly, did not grow as a writer through the first two. Her poor writing, grammatical errors and lack of basic punctuation are bad enough, but worse when added to a bad story plot and lack of character development. Life is too short to read bad books.
Another great book in series. Out of the twins in like Ryan more but after reading Sebastian story I see a different side to him. Loved that Erica wouldn't give in easily to Sebastian. U fall in love with the younger siblings wyatt and Dylan. Can't wait for his story. Feels like forever. Great HEA.
I enjoyed this book. What I liked most was that in this series, the wolf and the person are two different entities. That was a new concept for me. I enjoyed the back and forth banter between the wolf and the person. At times I even found it quite amusing.
Another great edition to the Love Bites Series. I think of the three this one was my favorite. The way Sebastian kept trying to do the right thing for Erica even fighting against his own nature was pure romance! Awesomeness!
