Although it is a dated book I found it to be very useful. It filled in a number of details I have missed in other books about scheduling film production. I highly recommend it.
A very useful book to learn how to organize scheduling your shooting schedule. It covers how to break down your script and what factors to note in order to figure out how you should schedule your film. When it comes to scheduling, and the book acknowledges this, really practice is the only way you will get a feel for how much you can expect to accomplish shooting per day. However this book and the organizing tools it presents are extremely helpful in preparing you to schedule a film shoot.
Gave this one an hour skim and read the most essential parts. That being said, it has good advice, but sadly it's advice is dated thanks to the rise of digital film scheduling. This book, however is still VERY PRACTICAL if you want to know some aspects of what film is like and how like it will take for.
Even though this book was written well before the era of budgeting software like Movie Magic, this is the first book I recommend to aspiring production managers and line producers.
