Romanian-born historian of religion, fiction writer, philosopher, professor at the University of Chicago, and one of the pre-eminent interpreters of world religion in the last century. Eliade was an intensely prolific author of fiction and non-fiction alike, publishing over 1,300 pieces over 60 years. He earned international fame with LE MYTHE DE L'ÉTERNAL RETOUR (1949, The Myth of the Eternal Return), an interpretation of religious symbols and imagery. Eliade was much interested in the world of the unconscious. The central theme in his novels was erotic love.
Very interesting concept, cool blending of the phantastical, science and theology. The amount of Names was a bit overwhelming and the psychology of the characters was not easy to follow.
I've finished this one several days ago. It's my habit not to start a new book before "cooling down" after the previous, if that is the case. Les Trois Grâces, did that!
A mystery, as all other Elidade's stories - death, research, religion, women...
I gave this book a rating of 4 stars - there is one thing that I do not like in books - time. The only exception will be books on WW2. I do not like to read about telephones, cars, ambulances, and so on. In books I look for world that I have never been to.
