Arnold Forster started fighting Antisemitism in the 30's joining the Anti Deformation League of B'nai Brith. As the 80's come to a close, he askes the question, are we back to square one in fighting antisemitism. His answer is simple; NO! The reason is also simple, because today we have Israel.

The story of Arnold's life and battles with antisemitism begin in the pre-World War II where antisemitism was no stranger to life in America. It takes us through many of the events of the day through his guilt in not doing enough to stop the Holocaust through the McCarthy era to the Eichman Trials to suing Time Magazine on behalf of Arik Sharon.

The book tells us three very important facts. First, there will always be antisemitism. Despite all the efforts throughout the world, antisemitism will not disappear. Theodore Herzl once believed that if all Jews settled in Israel, the rest of the world would leave us alone. We now know this not to be true.

The second point I derived from the book is that we always must use every resource we have at our disposal to fight all hate including antisemitism. The best way to fight it is intelligently, head on, to eradicate it at the source. Of course it will not always work; however, it is always worth the fight.

And third, even though the fight against antisemitism may seem futile, the results are real. Today we have Israel which guarantees that genocide of Jews will never again occur. Jews will always have a safe haven where they can escape to if the need ever arises.

Those who are ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it. That is why this is a book that must be read!
