it is a great book and I really enjoyed reading it from cover to cover, again and again. I'm looking forward to getting some more of these books. I think this book is for children who like exciting characters and lots of action, But the Battle with Richie Sadly set the tone for Ash's career as a Pokémon Trainer.
Ash wants to be a Pokemon Master - He needs to become a Member of the Pokemon League First, Which requires him to fight 8 Gym Masters & Attain all the badges for those Gyms, then he has to fight 6 Pokemon Trainers and Win.
Ash goes to fight his 5th Gym battle against Richie! His Final Choice is Charizard, but before he chooses Charizard he went through all the memories he had of Charizard - starting with Charmander and then the evolved forms. In The end he still chooses Charizard - Does Charizard win the 5th battle for him or not? Find out now and read this book.
This is by far the best book in this series so far and not just because it features arguably the coolest pokemon. The story actually gives us a full story arc, showing how Ash came to own a Charmander...how it evolved into Charmelon, showed Charizard and the volcano badge and concluded with the plot about his difficulties with Charizard..which bring the story back to the beginning in the final round of the pokemon tournament. Lots of action, this is what every pokemon book should be like.
