Susan Sutherland Isaacs (née Fairhurst) (1885–1948) (also known as 'Ursula Wise') was a Lancashire-born English educational psychologist and psychoanalyst. She published studies on the intellectual and social development of children and promoted the nursery school movement. --from wikipedia
While the book is dated, it contains a lot that can be applied to modern childhood care. Susan Isaacs shows a lot of kindness and care for children in this book, and the language used it fairly simple and common. This book is not truly a psychology book, as it is more directed towards teachers, nannies and parents alike, but as someone who is both a (future) psychologist and works in schools there is a lot that can be taken and applied.
