While the book is dated, it contains a lot that can be applied to modern childhood care. Susan Isaacs shows a lot of kindness and care for children in this book, and the language used it fairly simple and common. This book is not truly a psychology book, as it is more directed towards teachers, nannies and parents alike, but as someone who is both a (future) psychologist and works in schools there is a lot that can be taken and applied.

Simplicity is the beauty of this book. A great example of how certain things in raising children are timeless.
